After following the steps described at https://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/2021/ubuntu-21-10-install-guide/, I was able to login to a Wayland session with the nvidia drivers apparently loaded but the Settings About panel shows llvmpipe instead of nvidia. Also pymol shows 3.1 Mesa 21.2.2.
[00:49] <howarthjw> Also, nvidia-settings doesn't seem to run under Wayland in this configuration. I only get a Help and Quit button.
