| guiverc | I don't know if you're asking about desktop or server install; but I like an *upgrade via re-install* (or 'install using existing partition' in lubuntu's testcase) where it's not a clean install.. i qa-test & jumped from 21.04, 21.10, 20.04.3, 21.10, 18.04.6, 21.10 (if I recall correctly last few months) on an install without loosing my installed apps, music etc..
