valorieI didn't check it, sorry01:58
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> fw 5.87 running fine here.  Seems to have fixed the GTK windows causing strange refresh (flashing) issues on NVidaia cards after resume from sleep.02:02
valoriegood to know04:14

mamarleyThe repository already exists and I'm building PPA packages for Jammy right now!15:13
BluesKajmamarley, cool :-)15:20
BluesKajsed'd my sources.list and hosts/hostname to jammy, 350 upgrades to jammy were sucessful :-)15:34
mamarleyDang, you beat me!15:39
BluesKajhehe 15:40
BluesKajwell, i took a chance I guess.15:42
BluesKajmy setup is pretty generic, no oddball drivers etc needed 15:43
BluesKajIntel i5 cpu, 16GB Ram, onboard graphics etc15:48
valorieit's generally super-safe at this point, since jammy=impish19:37
clivejojammy = safe?19:52
santa_it seems it's safe, but afaics is no longer "the same than impish"20:03
santa_i.e. I have seen a big bunch of updates now20:03
clivejoanyone using Plasma on wayland?20:58
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> I keep trying Plasma on Wayland on my hybrid laptop.  I keep encountering minor issues that cause me to switch back to X.  Issue include apps not responding to clicks from system tray, hi-dpi browsers still blurry when scaled (running custom flags to run in wayland mode has been hit and miss in the past), wine requires a special patched version to run, and middle click mouse paste works intermittenlty.21:05
clivejowhat version of Plasma?21:07
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> 5.2321:07
clivejo@DarinMiller nice to see you BTW!21:08
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> likewise!21:08
clivejoI'm having issues getting into Plasma, sddm isn't playing ball!21:09
clivejostupid NVidia21:10
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> trying wayland now.... and wine-staging is working without any additional patching....!21:10
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> middle click mouse paste still fails between gtk (browser)  and terminal...21:11
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> I am waiting for the 490 drivers to land in the graphics ppa.  NVidia should be seamless when they land... I have yet see anyone confirm though....21:13
clivejohave to launch it via tty with  dbus-run-session startplasma-wayland21:16
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> Wayland is very close though.  And I love how smooth it is.21:16
clivejobeen trying a git build of sddm to use wayland21:17
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> On Solas?  Working fine on Kubuntu 21.10.  However, it switches my gpu from NVidia to intel as I am not modesetting on boot.21:17
clivejoUbuntu sddm have wayland support?21:18
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> Yes. I installed the wayland packages and wayland is one of the options in the SDDM menu.21:20
clivejoI mean sddm launches using wayland instead of X21:20
clivejoDisplayServer=wayland21:21
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> Oh!21:22
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> How does one know which DS SDDM is using?21:22
clivejounless you using a git build, probably x21:23
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> Makes sense.21:24
clivejoneon must be working on it, I see sitter working on bits21:24
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> That would have been a good question for Nate in today's reddit AMA session earlier today...21:26
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/qa1hne/kde_25th_anniversary_ask_aleix_pol_lydia/21:26
clivejoI'd like to experience an entirely wayland experience21:27
clivejox is so 20th century :P21:27
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> Same here!21:27
clivejocertainly won't be buying NVidia again, that's for sure!21:29
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> I am happy to see AMD CPU and GPU progress over  last few years.21:30
IrcsomeBot<DarinMiller> On a similar note, this RH dev. show what is now possible with modern laptops and eGPU's... I had no idea this was working under linux: https://twitter.com/GloriousEggroll/status/144927075142569984321:33
clivejoyeah, genuine effort to work with and support Linux21:33
