Iamthehuman12Hi, finally managed to upgrade this machine to US 21.10 .. I have bit of a problem. I was doing something that required stopping programs to conserve RAM and I closed Studio Controls and now I cannot start it again (after several reboots)16:31
Iamthehuman12I'm looking at Ksystemlog and I dunno why it just stops16:32
Iamthehuman12I have several snapshots, so I could roll back to like yesterday and hope that fixes it16:33
Iamthehuman12I have a snapshot that is 6.5 hrs old, that was before I closed the Studio Controls, but I am afraid it could be a config thing and restoring /-partition maybe will not fix it if the problem is some settings in /home. I got a Baqpaq snapshot of my home dir from yesterday so I can get the settings files for Studio Controls from there if I just know what they are16:39
Iamthehuman12Any help would be appreciated, thanks16:39
Iamthehuman12Here is what I see in Journald Log when I try to start Studio Controls https://paste.debian.net/1216015/16:44
EickmeyerIamthehuman12: Try launching studio-controls from the command line, and check that output.16:48
Iamthehuman12will do it now16:48
Iamthehuman12Eickmeyer: the output is here https://paste.debian.net/1216016/16:49
EickmeyerHmm... not the first time we've seen something like this.16:50
EickmeyerOvenWerks: ^16:50
EickmeyerIamthehuman12: I can't help you much further, but OvenWerks should be able to as it's his application. The best I could do in this case is point you in the right direction. :)16:51
Iamthehuman12cheers for your help16:51
EickmeyerIamthehuman12: I can say this: it appears as though the autojack configuration failed to convert to the new format. If you're in a hurry, you might be able to delete ~/.config/autojack and try relaunching studio-controls.16:52
EickmeyerThat said, you'd have to configure studio-controls again. However, I think OvenWerks would appreciate it being left alone so he can debug and fix the convert script.16:53
Iamthehuman12I'm not in a hurry ... but I will move it out of the way and try relaunching .. if it didn't help I can return to the previous file16:53
EickmeyerYou can also report the issue to https://github.com/ovenwerks/studio-controls. That might be very helpful.16:54
Iamthehuman12but what's the deal that it worked ok until it was stopped and restarted16:54
EickmeyerYeah, like I said, not the first time this has come up. There's a few edge cases where it's not working properly, and I don't know why, but OvenWerks knows the application inside and out.16:55
Eickmeyer[m]rgh: Have you had a chance to check geonkick RE: bug 1946779 ?18:35
ubottuBug 1946779 in geonkick (Ubuntu Impish) "[SRU] lv2 plugin installs to wrong directory" [High, Fix Committed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/194677918:35
rghEickmeyer: no time yet 18:45
* rgh had a crazy day18:45
Eickmeyer[m]rgh: No worries, I'll just start to get nag emails if it sits too long. :)18:45
rghI'll try tomorrow. 18:51
