rghhardware question : my Huion 610 Pro tablet is successfully recognized and works in ubuntu 20.04 , xsetwacom lists several devices, but it doesn't appear in the gnome configuration under the wacom tab11:10
rghI've installed drivers from github, before that they tablet was only recognized as a 'mouse' input11:11
rghThe tablet has a row of buttons and I want to remap them, because they don't seem to do anything11:12
Steve[m]123<SeanCortright[m]> "Hi, I'm wondering how to..." <- Hey Sean Cortright when you find the answer I'd be interested to know it.  I'm trying to figure out the advantages/ disadvantages of using or adding it right now14:19

Iamthehuman12OvenWerks: Thank you. I saw your suggestion about line 355 and recorded it and I'm going to try fixing the situation soon14:54
Eickmeyer[m]<Steve[m]123> "Hey Sean Cortright when you find..." <- And would be entirely offtopic in this channel since we do not work with mint here. This is a *support chat* only.15:52
rghhardware problem is solved16:51
rgheverything works, I just do set up a little script16:51

Steve[m]123<Eickmeyer[m]> "And would be entirely offtopic..." <- Hi Erick, apologize that I do not know if you are a moderator here voicing an official judgement or just a participant like me stating an opinion about whether or not this forum covers Ubuntu studio as an addition to another flavor of Ubuntu.  Please clarify.21:21
Eickmeyer[m]Steve: Linux Mint is not an official flavor of Ubuntu and is therefore offtopic.21:21
Eickmeyer[m]!mint21:21
ubottuThe Ubuntu channels can only provide support for Ubuntu and its official flavors, since other distributions and derivatives have repository and software changes. So please use their dedicated support venues, for example: Linux Mint (#linuxmint-help on irc.spotchat.org), Kali Linux (#kali-linux), and LXLE (#lxle)21:21
Eickmeyer[m]And I'm the leader of Ubuntu Studio, and yes, a moderator here therefore.21:22
OvenWerksIamthehuman12: also line 405: if len(device) < 4 or not (device[0:3] == 'USB' and device[3].isdigit()):21:56
semHello do any of you use the lowlatency kernel?23:19
semI am hoping to use my tablet computer for live audio processing23:20
Eickmeyer[m]sem: Ubuntu Studio uses the lowlatency kernel by default, automatically set-up.23:40
Eickmeyer[m]!lowlatency23:41
ubottuThe lowlatency kernel is a special Ubuntu kernel build with modifications, such as realtime preemption, for systems which require low latency when communicating with some hardware, such as some audio devices. Included with Ubuntu Studio by default.23:41
OvenWerkssem: tablet? as in Arm based? I do not know A) if there is an ARM lowlatency kernel or how well it would work.23:45
OvenWerkssem: there are some other parts of Ubuntustudio that may be less useful on an ARM based device as well, such as governor modes23:46
Eickmeyer[m]OvenWerks: I've owned several tablets that are amd64 based, so while your assumption is reasonable, that might not be the case.23:46
OvenWerksEickmeyer[m]: thats why I asked :)23:46
OvenWerksI think there are intel based tablets too.23:49
Eickmeyer[m]That's what I meant, Intel == amd64 architecture23:51
semIt is one of the surface pro tablets23:56
semwhich is basically a laptop23:56
semanyway I noticed that there are newer lowlatency kernels available, but I am on an older one, which linux-lowlatency depends on23:56
OvenWerksubuntustudio _should_ just work23:56
OvenWerkslowlatency, cpu governors etc.23:56
semit should but I haven't used ubuntu in a while so I'm not sure if everything updated correctly23:57
semI have 5.4.0-89-lowlatency installed23:57
semis that the version you are on23:57
OvenWerksyup23:58
semcool, thanks :)23:58
