[14:39] https://code.launchpad.net/~jugmac00/launchpad/+git/launchpad/+merge/410593 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎 [17:45] did someone pull a cable by mistake on LP? web and api erroring here [17:45] https://launchpad.net/wabsprint.co.uk [17:45] oops [17:45] it's unhappy, yeah [17:46] Issues with Librarian are making Launchpad extremely slow/down [17:46] we are working on it [17:47] ok, thanks. nothing super urgent here, so will happily wait :) [18:04] it seems that we are back to normal [18:09] I'm getting "Bad bot...go away" trying to reset my pw. What causes this? [18:09] I copy-past my pw from a pw manager. It is too long & random to hand type [18:10] chromium browser 95.0.4638.54 on Ubuntu [18:11] when were you getting that? if it was when you joined, then launchpad was pretty unhappy at that time, and it's probably worth trying again [18:11] if just ten seconds ago, then hopefully someone with more knowledge will have something to suggest :) [18:11] I joined ages ago, but the pw remembered by my browser doesn't work so I tried to change it with the "reset password" feature. Happened just now. [18:12] So I'm getting "Bad bot...go away" right now [18:14] Is there a working support email address? [18:16] I'm not sure, I always use https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad/+addquestion [18:16] please send all the details to this email: feedback@launchpad.net as you cannot submit a question (because you cannot access you account) [18:17] But also, password reset is SSO not Launchpad [18:19] See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SSO/FAQs/BadBot, and isd-support@canonical.com if that isn't enough to get things working [18:19] (the latter goes to the SSO ticket queue) [18:22] Ok, thanks. I just sent email to feedback@launchpad.net [18:22] I read the FAQ about "Bad bot" and it is not very helpful, basically saying use a different browser or hand-type the password. Both are unreasonable IMO (particularly with long random passwords) [18:26] I would suggest to send the email to isd-support@canonical.com as it seems they are gonna able to provide you better help with this particular issue [18:28] Would someone out there mind trying "reset password" using chromium browser? [18:28] (if the same error occurs it will be good to know; and -hopefully- your old pw will still be valid so you can log in) [18:29] And, I forgot to say, using copy-paste from a terminal window to enter the new password [18:30] JimAvera: "reset password" works fine for me in Chromium [18:30] Hmm. (with copy-pasting the pw?) [18:31] Maybe my IP (randomly assigned by ISP) is on some blacklist... [18:31] I only went through the first stage of the password-reset workflow, so no password to type [18:31] It's not an IP blacklist. "Bad bot" means that your browser is auto-filling a honeypot form field that isn't supposed to be auto-filled [18:31] So it may be a browser extension or something along those lines [18:31] Maybe look for form history for that site that you can clear [18:32] Or see what extensions you have installed [18:32] Ok, thanks. I'll try that. Chromium seems to auto-fill forms spontaneously quite a lot. [18:33] If you poke at the page source, you'll find a field that's supposed to be left blank to prove your humanity :) [18:35] Definitely not about copying and pasting your password from a password manager; that's of course good practice and we encourage it [19:20] Re "Bad bot...": Still occurs with all extensions disabled and all auto-fill options disabled; however it does not occur in an 'Incongnito' window. I wonder what is auto-filling that hidden field? === lukedashjr is now known as luke-jr === lukedashjr is now known as luke-jr === lukedashjr is now known as luke-jr === lukedashjr is now known as luke-jr [21:51] I know there were some issues earlier, but are there any delays in package publishing after build/upload in PPAs? [21:59] Eickmeyer[m]: ah yes, thanks, looks like it got stuck. I've asked for it to be poked with a sharp stick [21:59] cjwatson: Perfect, thanks! [22:00] Should be catching up now.
