dragon2is it possible to convert a pdf scan to a more editable format in lubuntu? I may have to add a sotware package?10:09
dragon2I have a scan of a document with a logo, pdf format. I got to store as, and I only have the pdf format option in the schroll bar?10:10
dragon2it looks like lubuntu has qpdf as sa default pdf reader10:11
kc2bezdragon2: Libreoffice Draw might be helpful for this.10:21
dragon2thanks it did open in libre draw10:39
dragon2but I am not able to edit much, cut out logo etc. 10:40
dragon2hmmm10:40
dragon2I use libre a lot, but draw is pretty new to me10:40
kc2bezSome pdfs are not really editable. It all depends on how they are made. Draw usually does an ok job on them, I am not sure what else to suggest.10:45
dragon2it`s not a scan to editible word document12:08
dragon2it is a scan of a document witha few logos and some text columns. I just wanted to extract the old company logo to start with12:09
dragon2I have managed similar before, but it was a sort of draw a line around and cut out type of affair, 12:09
dragon2...a daunting task in current offices12:10

somenonehas anyone ever seen something about a cheap usb keyboard ignoring the "key repeat" settings?14:26
somenonei'm likely going to grab another one later today so it doesn't matter too much but it's pretty weird14:26
somenonee.g. when holding shift and a, it doesn't come out as a consistent AAAA, but rather something like aaaAaaAAAa14:27
lubot[telegram] <teward001> that sounds more like hardware problem than the Key Repeat settings - cheaper keyboards might not have good consistent contacts or such on their hardware end.15:30
somenonei don't believe that's the problem...the keyboard works fine on windows15:36
somenonei thought that was the issue too but it seems to be okay. there's another keyboard i briefly checked that had the same issue15:37
somenonealso, bad wording on my part, i don't think the settings are the cause, it's just related15:39
somenonei mention that because they have no effect whatsoever on the faulty keyboard, but have on all others i tested15:40
somenoneno idea what the issue would be honestly, drivers aside15:42

RobbanuxHi friends. Old Bob here. I try to install the great Lubuntu 20 on my old Fujitsu 510 and installation did great but. When i try to restart the computer it will not reboot to Lubuntu. It is like it is no bootloader installed! Someone know the problem?20:30
RobbanuxThanks for the help. Have a nice evening.20:33
somenonegrabbed another cheap one, same deal. they have the same usb vendor id for whatever that's worth: c0f421:21
somenoneone other weird thing i noticed, is that even on the fancy asus bios thing here it has the same behavior21:29
somenonespeaking of the bios, that's probably more related...22:23
somenonei tested yet another keyboard on a live lubuntu install where i bought it, and it worked fine there, but back here, same thing yet again22:24
somenoneupdating this bios looks pretty annoying though, ugh22:25

somenonereally have no clue. on a desktop + laptop with lubuntu installed, the issue shows up. on another laptop with windows, a live install doesn't show the issue23:08
