=== genii is now known as genii-core [10:09] is it possible to convert a pdf scan to a more editable format in lubuntu? I may have to add a sotware package? [10:10] I have a scan of a document with a logo, pdf format. I got to store as, and I only have the pdf format option in the schroll bar? [10:11] it looks like lubuntu has qpdf as sa default pdf reader [10:21] dragon2: Libreoffice Draw might be helpful for this. [10:39] thanks it did open in libre draw [10:40] but I am not able to edit much, cut out logo etc. [10:40] hmmm [10:40] I use libre a lot, but draw is pretty new to me [10:45] Some pdfs are not really editable. It all depends on how they are made. Draw usually does an ok job on them, I am not sure what else to suggest. [12:08] it`s not a scan to editible word document [12:09] it is a scan of a document witha few logos and some text columns. I just wanted to extract the old company logo to start with [12:09] I have managed similar before, but it was a sort of draw a line around and cut out type of affair, [12:10] ...a daunting task in current offices === genii-core is now known as genii [14:26] has anyone ever seen something about a cheap usb keyboard ignoring the "key repeat" settings? [14:26] i'm likely going to grab another one later today so it doesn't matter too much but it's pretty weird [14:27] e.g. when holding shift and a, it doesn't come out as a consistent AAAA, but rather something like aaaAaaAAAa [15:30] [telegram] that sounds more like hardware problem than the Key Repeat settings - cheaper keyboards might not have good consistent contacts or such on their hardware end. [15:36] i don't believe that's the problem...the keyboard works fine on windows [15:37] i thought that was the issue too but it seems to be okay. there's another keyboard i briefly checked that had the same issue [15:39] also, bad wording on my part, i don't think the settings are the cause, it's just related [15:40] i mention that because they have no effect whatsoever on the faulty keyboard, but have on all others i tested [15:42] no idea what the issue would be honestly, drivers aside === ox is now known as Guest6166 === ox is now known as Guest4530 [19:06] [telegram] Hello, can we use hot corners feature at lubuntu ? like when i move my cursor to top right i want it to minimize focused window. [19:08] [telegram] or open VLC, or show desktop, or open app menu [19:10] [telegram] or swich to other app window, or hide/unhide(togle) bottom bar [20:30] Hi friends. Old Bob here. I try to install the great Lubuntu 20 on my old Fujitsu 510 and installation did great but. When i try to restart the computer it will not reboot to Lubuntu. It is like it is no bootloader installed! Someone know the problem? [20:33] Thanks for the help. Have a nice evening. [21:21] grabbed another cheap one, same deal. they have the same usb vendor id for whatever that's worth: c0f4 [21:29] one other weird thing i noticed, is that even on the fancy asus bios thing here it has the same behavior [22:23] speaking of the bios, that's probably more related... [22:24] i tested yet another keyboard on a live lubuntu install where i bought it, and it worked fine there, but back here, same thing yet again [22:25] updating this bios looks pretty annoying though, ugh === genii is now known as genii-core [23:08] really have no clue. on a desktop + laptop with lubuntu installed, the issue shows up. on another laptop with windows, a live install doesn't show the issue
