[06:24] Good morning everyone! [06:31] Hi jibel [06:35] Hey duflu [06:47] good morning desktoppers [06:55] Hi oSoMoN [07:00] hey duflu [07:00] hi duflu jibel oSoMoN [07:01] hey callmepk [07:02] good morning! [07:02] hi didrocks [07:04] hey callmepk [07:06] Hi didrocks [07:08] hey duflu [07:10] hey :) oSoMoN duflu callmepk didrocks [07:10] Hi ricotz [07:12] morning ricotz [07:36] salut didrocks, good morning ricotz [07:40] bonjour oSoMoN [07:46] salut oSoMoN didrocks ricotz [07:47] salut jibel [07:51] hi ricotz [08:07] salut jibel [08:08] hey jibel [08:09] goood morning desktopers [08:10] oSoMoN: I might be totally off base about the Firefox issue here: https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/firefox-snap-wont-start-under-ubuntu-21-10/27219/5?u=jamesh -- but if you don't have other ideas it might be something to test [08:11] salut seb128 [08:12] jamesh, yes, that's a good suggestion, thanks! [08:15] Hi seb128 [08:21] gnome-shell-extension-impatience tags ebac97e Jonathan Carter upstream/0.4.6 * https://deb.li/3keIe [08:23] hey jamesh oSoMoN duflu, how are you? [08:24] good [08:26] seb128, not bad, you? [08:27] seb128, so far so good, my immune system is resisting the cold that my daughters brought back from school [08:27] duflu, tired but alright, I was waken up at 1am and again 6am and didn't manage to go back to sleep before the start of the day :-/ [08:27] ouch :/ [08:27] :S [08:27] oSoMoN, don't forgot to sleep enough to increase the chance it stays this way! [08:28] yes, that's a wise piece of advice, sleeping is key [08:42] seb128, jamesh, hello [09:07] hey ricotz, how are you? [09:09] Trevinho, could you try to find an upstream to nag to review https://github.com/flatpak/xdg-desktop-portal/pull/634 ? [09:09] Pull 634 in flatpak/xdg-desktop-portal "document-portal: Use libfuse3 API" [Open] [09:09] seb128, all good here, I hope you find some rest over lunch :) [09:10] ricotz, thanks :) [20:10] seb128: oh, I've pinged Matthias [20:10] also do you know what's happening on pygobject? [20:10] it fails for a dependency I don't get [20:12] Trevinho, what is failing? [20:12] seb128: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pygobject/3.42.0-1+build1/+build/22338395 [20:12] a build depend on itself? [20:12] yes, seems weird, check with jbicha [20:13] looking at the logs it seems to fail as per cairo pkg, not sure if required by other dep? [20:13] python3-gi-cairo : Depends: python3-gi (= 3.42.0-1) but it is not installable [20:14] well it's a binary from the same source [20:14] ah! gnome-pkg-tools depends on it? [20:14] not sure if that's picked though [20:15] so yeah...dh-sequence-gnome picks it I feel, and that's requiring gi-cairo [20:16] not sure how though, but it's marked as reverse dependency... [20:16] bah, no idea, I think locally i got it building fine on jammy [20:18] ah no it does only when using aptitude as dep resolver method [20:19] :-( [20:19] we had that issue in the past [20:21] mhmh, so gnome-pkg-tools brings in perl:any, dh-translations, gir1.2-rsvg-2.0, gir1.2-glib-2.0, python3, python3-gi-cairo, scour (>= 0.36-1~) not sure how it's generated, as the source isn't requiring it per se, [20:22] ah, that's scour the guilty [20:26] seb128: not sure if this is adding too complexity, but I think one way could be using gnome-pkg-tools to be as debian one is, thus providing a gnome-pkg-tools-ubuntu that in our case is the one providing dh-sequence-gnome, while the other will provide dh-sequence-gnome-debian or something like that... [20:26] then, low-level packages such as python3-gobject could just use dh-sequence-gnome-debian [20:27] otherwise, a temporary upload with ubuntu disabled features... and then back in [20:27] but it's a bit annoying that we may get into this chicken-egg problem again [20:28] or downgrading to suggests/recommends could somewhat improve this? [20:36] ok, with recommends compiles, but... is it this strong enough to always bring such packages (scour and its deps) in? [20:38] oh, well... actually scour already recommends python3-gi-cairo and friends, so imho we could just recommend scour, and it will install what needed if possible [20:49] Trevinho, we had to do that workaround in the past, https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-pkg-tools/0.18.0ubuntu3 [20:49] probably easiest to just do a workaround upload [21:42] Trevinho: the problem started with Debian's gobject-introspection setting extra Breaks [21:43] jbicha: I see, well for now I've uploaded one without explicit depends, still wondering if normally the reccomends are picked if they don't cause troubles [22:18] it looks like your upload allows gobject-introspection to build which should clear up the problem. Recommends are not installed by default on official builders so we'll need to undo your change once things clear up
