[00:05] hello again all o/ [00:05] so I'm trying to boot my laptop to this boot image .iso USB stick, but every time I try to boot it, I get "No OS found" from BIOS [00:06] I tried putting the .iso there with the usb-creator-kde tool [00:06] I tried with dd [00:06] I'm going to check its checksum now just to be sure. [00:08] CountDeMoney: you could try booting that USB by connecting it to a virtual machine guest [00:08] oh that's true [00:08] to see if it's a working USB, right. === Lord_of_Life_ is now known as Lord_of_Life === zzz is now known as Guest1740 === CountDeMoney is now known as Roey [06:22] If your system use bios not uefi check your usb boot image support bios too. if it isn't, format your usb device and burning .iso file again (re @IrcsomeBot: so I'm trying to boot my laptop to this boot image .iso USB stick, but every time I try to boot it, I get "No OS found" from BIOS) === Montresor is now known as Unit193 === IchabodCrane is now known as WrathOfAchilles [12:07] uname [12:07] uname -a [12:10] Great great great. Iā€™m running an i7 fresh install of Ubuntu then installed kubuntu [16:33] Found what appears to be an intermittent off/on bug in touchpad support in 21.10 during the same X session. In the Touchpad settings sometimes the Tapping options show as unavaliable (greyed out) and also Scrolling > Touchpad edges when set works for a while, but at some point that ability is lost. Returning to Settings and toggle the Scrolling option brings it back. [16:34] I had once an issue where the hole system got extremely laggy after a update for a few days, but I it was resolved without me doing anything (re @IrcsomeBot: Is it me or is plasma slow? It can work fine for one, both for another it doesn't. [17:02] settle with one DE and distro and go from there [17:03] Ok === genii-core is now known as genii [18:05] jcbjoe2021: also try to keep the converstation in one channel, they don't like cross posting [18:08] look for, it depends on which Plasma version you use, Animation speed in the System Settings [18:09] jcbjoe2021: ^ [21:27] hi all [21:27] hey my laptop doesn't seem to boot off the USB stick.. it just says "No operation system found". This is a Dell Inspiron 14z.. I tried with 2 different USB sticks with Kubuntu 19.10 installer on them. [21:28] I have this old kubuntu 9.x installation and I want to upgrade it to 19.10 [21:28] I followed the guides you guys gave me here but I still found issues preventing upgrade [22:27] to 19.10? [22:27] that is not an LTS [22:27] we're at 21.10 (also not LTS) [22:28] you want 20.04 if you want an LTS [23:14] er [23:14] I meant to 21.10 [23:14] not to 19.10, valorie [23:15] anyhow if anyone's up for helping me through this, I'd like to try updating it [23:15] instttead of boooting off a installation USB stick [23:22] How are you writing the installer image to the USB stick? === genii is now known as genii-core === TheOrinal is now known as TheOrignl === TheOrignl is now known as Guest6343
