lucas70I have a really old laptop I wanna install lubuntu, but I couldn't find the system requirements anywhere. Can someone enlighten me?04:21
guiverclucas70, Lubuntu no longer provides minimum specs (https://lubuntu.me/taking-a-new-direction/) .... 04:26
lubot[telegram] <Halis> You can just install it and try. İ think, a 64 bit processor and 768MB ram should boot lubuntu (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <lucas70> I have a really old laptop I wanna install lubuntu, but I couldn't find the system requirements anywhere. Can someone enlighten me?)09:35
guiverc@Halis, lucas70 left just as I was typing out my response... why i stopped and just put "...."11:48
lubot[telegram] <Halis> Oh, İ see. Since that question is asked every now and then, İ will write it here, so İ can later just copy & paste it:14:53
lubot[telegram] <Halis> There is no official mininum requirements anymore (https://lubuntu.me/taking-a-new-direction/)15:00
lubot[telegram] <Halis> It will boot with 768MB of RAM and a 64-bit processor. A internet browser with many open websites can require considerable more RAM, so you need to test, if it is usable in your case.15:00

FatPhilI'm having trouble hibernating a persistent live-USB onto itself.15:22
FatPhilI created the USB stick using the mkusb tutorials that are out there, everything boots fine.15:22
FatPhilUsed gparted to shrink the (unwanted) NTFS partition, and stick a RAM-sized swap partition there.15:23
FatPhilEverything still boots fine.15:23
FatPhilI added a line to /etc/fstab for that partition, swapon is fine with that.15:25
oerhekslive iso is not recommended in  a hibernate situation15:25
FatPhilHibernate *appears* to work. It thinks for a while, then powers down.15:25
FatPhilHowever, it powers up into the normal grub boot and I can go into a new session as before.15:25
FatPhilI haven't used live-USBs since the days of knoppix about a decade back, so don't know what level of tech or complexity they cope with.15:26
FatPhilthe "persistent" nature is a feature I really do like though.15:27
FatPhilAh, I didn't do anything with /etc/initramfs-tool/conf.d/resume - not sure what I need to do there.15:31
