[00:07] In the list of installed apt packages I have: [00:07] linux-image-generic-hwe-20.04/focal-updates,focal-security,now 5.11.0.40.44~20.04.18 amd64 [installed, automatic] [00:07] and linux-image-5.11.0-40-generic/focal-updates,focal-security,now 5.11.0-40.44~20.04.2 amd64 [installed, automatic] [00:08] If you see the versions ~20.04.18 vs ~20.04.2 what does the difference mean? [00:12] croraf: note that those two binary packages come from different source packages [00:12] croraf: it might be helpful to see all the changelogs in one place: [00:12] https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-signed-hwe-5.11/+changelog [00:13] https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-meta-hwe-5.11/+changelog [00:29] sarnold, but it seems to me that the former is not a kernel at all, but more like a kernel manager [00:30] I updated it and it installed a newer kernel. Which got added to the GRUB. And this package itself is not in the GRUB it seems. [00:44] croraf: yeah, that sounds about right [00:58] thanks, and gn [01:00] gn8 :) === mhcerri3 is now known as mhcerri [11:26] croraf, i think that table is now repaired; some tag information is missing currently but will fill in over the next hours [15:44] hi, how does grub update is executed when ubuntu kernel get updated ? === gpiccoli_ is now known as gpiccoli [17:55] apw good [17:55] looks great
