=== janitha9 is now known as janitha [10:59] Hey there guys. I'm running Proxmox, Cloning a VM with cloud-init, Debian 10 or Debian 11, both throw a kernel panic in the first boot. I then reboot it and it reboots absolutely fine. Any idea? [14:22] Hi. We're facing an issue where cloud-init 21.4 apparently hangs during boot on an Azure VM running Ubuntu LTS (both 18.04 and 20.04), apparently due to a network issue. This instance was outdated, the issue only occurs after upgrading cloud-init (via Ubuntu's package manager). I was wondering if anyone has experienced a similar issue before and [14:22] could suggest a course of action. [14:22] This is the full error message: [14:22] [10.210319] cloud-init [878]: Cloud-init v. 21.4-0ubuntu1~20.04.1 running 'init-local' at Thu, 09 Dec 2021 22:13:52 +0000. Up 10.00 seconds. Probably best to file a bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-init and attach the tarball generated with "cloud-init collect-logs -u" (remove the -u if you have any sensitive userdata) [14:58] I'm not sure if I can obtain such logs, since the VM won't boot. Any suggestions? We restored the VM to a working snapshot, but that's before the issue so I guess it wouldn't contain any logs of the issue. [15:03] where did the error you pasted come from? [15:04] Azure serial console [15:04] cjp256: any ideas for debugging ^ ? [15:27] afarah: I can help debug, I'll PM you :) [15:28] Thanks. [16:18] MrGeneral: when it reboots is it using a crash kernel?
