Sefer | Hey there, I think the autoinstall has a bug. I am installing with a different keyboard layout but it won't get recognized until the system booted. So in console or in this case the decryption phase I cannot properly enter my secret. I tried calling `update-initramfs -u` in target (and directly, too) during the late-commands phase but it doesn't | 16:44 |

Sefer | change anything. It will only work calling it once the system booted and I'm logged in. After being regenerated I have the proper keymap for the decryption. Any ideas how I can fix that within autoinstall? | 16:44 |

lotuspsychje | Sefer: can you see if your bug is amongst these;? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/subiquity/+bugs?orderby=importance&start=0 | 19:16 |
JanC | well, today I'm happy (again) that I don't use Java anywhere... | 19:21 |
lotuspsychje | yeah nasty exploit JanC oO | 19:25 |
lotuspsychje | 'roughly 20,000 blocked exploit requests per minute on cloudflare' | 19:26 |
JanC | I can see several exploit attempts on my VPS too, so probably anybody who uses Log4J and didn't upgrade yet is in trouble | 19:27 |
lotuspsychje | JanC: was checking this git earlier today; https://github.com/anchore/grype | 19:28 |
JanC | also important to remember that a successful attacker would likely delete their exploit attempts from the logs if they are local... | 19:43 |
lotuspsychje | yeah | 19:45 |
Sefer | lotuspsychje I'll take a look | 19:46 |
JanC | let's hope Facebook & the other companies that log WiFi SSIDs (and other crap) use Log4J to do so... https://twitter.com/hackerfantastic/status/1469481775172829192 | 20:06 |
Sefer | lotuspsychje Doesn't look like its listed there | 20:06 |
JanC | if you have a bug that is not reported yet, you should report a bug yourself | 20:07 |
lotuspsychje | ok, tnx for checking Sefer you might re-ask your issue in this channel maybe other volunteers know more of it, or !bug a new one yourself as JanC advices | 20:08 |
JanC | especially as this is a regression, if I understand correctly? | 20:08 |
Sefer | Not sure, it's a weird one. I cannot test it with desktop but at least for Server Autoinstall it is happening. I define the keyboard / locale in the appropriate section and it doesn't apply until the system booted as I said. Therefore for the encryption a different (probably en_US) layout is used and not the one defined. | 20:18 |
Sefer | I'll do a manual installation using the server image again to confirm whether it happens there, too. I mean both installers have a bug anyways regarding this where I chose a keyboard layout, test it in the test section and 2 steps further it changed back xD | 20:19 |
Sefer | yep, also happens when using the image and doing a manual install | 20:30 |
