I want to test something that will run on ubuntu server and not ubuntu desktop. Is anyone aware of the existence of a virtual appliance of ubuntu server that will just run on something like virtualbox, without the need for pre-installation configution? [09:19] The appliances that I've found require configuration before they are run in order for a user to log in. I want to sidestep that if I can. [09:22] bobdobbs: Vagrant, together with the official https://app.vagrantup.com/ubuntu images, are kind of nice for those kind of scenarios. [09:26] thanks [10:56] bobdobbs: there are also cloud-images if you want to run on OpenStack or similar https://cloud-images.ubuntu.com/ [11:06] hi there! i am bringing up my question from yesterday again... [11:07] during start of the grafana-server service i get "bind:permission denied" for port 80 [11:07] even though i created a systemd unit override with: CapabilityBoundingSet=CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE , AmbientCapabilities=CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE as well as PrivateUsers=false [11:08] i did a systemctl daemon-reaload, i restarted the service, i restarted the machine. but the error remains. [11:09] system is a ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS vm [11:11] complete error msg is: "failed to open listener on address 0.0.0.0:80: listen tcp 0.0.0.0:80: bind: permission denied" [11:18] systemctl status grafana-server shows "Drop-In: /etc/systemd/grafana-server.service.d with override.conf" [11:18] so i guess it found my override and is aware of it [11:25] what can i do to further debug the situation? [11:27] just in case if somebody is wondering: port 80 is NOT occupied by some other service === genii-core is now known as genii === Guest776 is now known as zerosum === gschanuel218 is now known as gschanuel21 === blackro0t is now known as blackroot
