[11:52] anyway I ask, hope someone can answer: firefox on ubuntu is now on snap, this create problems on dpms, it's not disabled while watching a youtube video for example. Is something that snap could handle or it will be like this forever? [12:21] dob1: it looks like the firefox snap has code for this in https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/source/widget/gtk/WakeLockListener.cpp so the I guess it's a matter of connecting the snapd screen-inhit-control interface, ideally this should be done automatically [12:22] mvo, how can i check this? [12:31] dob1: I just looked and it seems like firefox is using this so maybe something else is missing, let me try to dig a bit more [12:34] mvo, I prefer to do some additional tests then, to not waste your time [12:34] I will do them and then I will report [12:43] dob1: "snap connections" will show you what is connected. the code in https://searchfox.org/mozilla-central/source/widget/gtk/WakeLockListener.cpp looks like it will try the gnome and freedesktop apis to the screensavers. but when I do a "dbus-monitor --monitor|grep -i screen" and then click on a video in the firefox snap I see no activity so something seems off [12:45] dob1: I will be away for a bit and have lunch but will read backlog [12:45] mvo, consider I am using i3 [12:48] dob1: ohhhh, maybe that's it then - also wayland? or plain X11? [12:48] mvo, i3 is only on xorg [13:12] hello :) [13:47] zyga-fyke: hi :-) [14:27] mardy, no eoy-holidays yet?
