santa_hi there16:33
santa_RikMills: I intend to do fw 5.9016:34
santa_I wanted to show someone else how KA works for new releases16:35
RikMillssanta_: um.... you are a tad late16:35
santa_god damn it16:35
santa_the announcement mail is from 26 min ago16:36
santa_sigh16:36
RikMillssorry. I made some head start on git builds as it is a dependency of the upcoming 5.24 beta16:36
RikMillsanyway, all is pushed to git. may need some fixing if there are committed changes compared to my snapshots16:38
santa_well, I had planned to show someone else how KA works with in an example tomorrow16:41
santa_but that's not going to be possible obviously16:41
santa_maybe at some point you should really consider if you want to work "oFf the mark" and alone or you want to do something else16:43
RikMillssorry16:48
RikMillsin other news, they just reverted the kio polkit stuff16:48
RikMillssigh16:48
santa_anyway, let's move on, yes16:48
santa_I had some peding things in KA I didn't have time to do yet16:49
RikMillsafter Nate etc all announced it!16:49
santa_aha, I'm not very up-to-date with that topic16:49
santa_will you have time tomorrow or so to discuss the KA things?16:50
RikMillshttps://pointieststick.com/2021/12/31/this-week-in-kde-finally-root-file-operations-in-dolphin/16:50
santa_ahhhh16:50
RikMillssanta_: sure. I am wuite free this weekend, which is why I was very keen to get ahead of things. next week I may not be16:50
RikMills*quite free16:51
santa_I think I get it, so it's about fixing the "dolphin can't be executed as root for security reason"16:51
santa_ok, I will try to allocate some time tomorrow for KA then16:51
RikMillswell dolphin won't root enabled, but file operations that need it can be via polkit16:51
santa_yes, I know, that's the correct way to go afaik16:52
RikMillsindeed16:52
RikMillsand now: https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/release-team/2022-January/012586.html16:53
RikMillsthink I will hang fire for a bit, as not sure that discussion is 100% settled for 5.9016:53
santa_so it would be a thing for 5.9116:54
RikMillsI guess. I know opensuse want their security team to review, so 5.91 seems reasonable16:55
RikMillswhich we could have before freezes16:55
Mamarokoh my, who had the silly idea of removing the menu bar and putting it to the right side? Any way to revert this? I am probably too dumb to find it in the settings...17:03
Mamarokfound it, the Applications menus daemon was activated and running, which I certainly didn't, so this was changed in the 5.89 update :-(19:11
