zenofwhy does the live system (I think at least from Focal on) create a writable partition on a usb pendrive when booted from it  _without_ asking me? from a so called live system I would expect not to modify anything unless I explicitly say so...23:28
oerhekszenof, how did you make the live iso on usb? only mkusb can do that standard.23:30
oerheksstandard usb writer does not give an option for persistance, AFAIK23:31
zenofwith: cat ubuntuimage.iso > /dev/sdX23:34
zenofthe partition isn't created while cat'ing or dd'ing or what ever. but once the live system is booted. and yes, it is persistent. when I shut down the live ssystem, plug the usb pen drive in my other system, that partition shows up.23:36
zenofhmm... that additional the partition might be there already after I cloned the iso on it... about to check that...23:44
