mybalzitchSo I installed the 20.04 HWE kernel a while ago, and am running it. However the supplied 5.4.x kernel is still there, and with a recent apt update for the old 5.4 kernel, the system now wants to boot the 5.4 kernel instead of the 5.11 hwe kernel23:28
mybalzitchand apt remove linux-image-5.4.0-94-generic wants to reinstall a unsigned linux image in its place23:28
sarnoldmybalzitch: do you still have linux-generic installed?23:29
mybalzitchnope23:37
sarnoldhow about linux-image-generic ?23:38
mybalzitchwell, I did until this issue came up, the nI remove it, and I still can't remove the generic kernel23:38
mybalzitchI also just recently removed that package23:38
mybalzitchlol, okay, so I removed all of those, then the 5.4.0 kernel, let apt replace it with an unsigned image, removed that, and all is well?23:43
sarnolddouble-check that you've got (a) a kernel (b) the HWE metapackages to make sure you keep getting updates :)23:44
mybalzitchthe symlinks in /boot seem sane, and the hwe package seems to still be installed23:47
mybalzitchthanks sarnold 23:47
