[08:54] <zxmpi> my boss a trained electrical engineer once took a dodgy crt monitor apart. after it had been plugged out for 2-3 days to fix it. was in different room when we heard a loud hiss/whine. walked into room of smoke and he was standing there with plasitc handle of screwdriver. the metal had evaporated.

[09:00] <zxmpi> he acknowledged that he might have been a little hasty as it was a big monitor

[09:02] <zxmpi> my father took a belt from a step down transformer he made in 40s. only time i saw him enraged. it flipped him across the room and he hit wall about 6 foot from ground. he punched it into a permanently off state

[09:14] <zxmpi> it wasn't going to cause anyone any trouble again
