=== genii is now known as genii-core [04:45] -SwissBot:#xubuntu-devel- ::xfce-announce:: ANNOUNCE: ristretto 0.12.2 released @ http://www.mail-archive.com/xfce-announce@xfce.org/msg00646.html [17:26] Hi, I'm using Xubuntu Jammy Daily. I'm having trouble with the xfce4-panel, as it isn't showing all notification icons (for example, nm-applet is missing). What is/are the panel extension(s) that should show all the notification icons? [17:29] Another problem is that sometimes xfwm4 won't find a screen and then I get a session without a window manager and panel, then I have to open a terminal and start xfwm4 manually [17:43] The xfwm4 one is a newer problem, but the panel one exists for at least 2 months (the bug 1949589 has another way it can appear) [17:43] Bug 1949589 in xfce4-panel (Ubuntu) "appindicator icons don't appear if they are enabled after the panel was started" [Undecided, New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1949589 [18:59] so xubuntu.com still advertizes potency pills [19:00] i mean xubuntu.org [19:00] does this need to be fixed by #canonical-sysadmin rather? [20:23] tomreyn, i can't see that [20:26] no, i can [20:26] let me see if i can do something about that. [20:27] yes wtf, the screenshots page content was injected with some crap. [20:30] that is now fixed [20:31] also, i got some of those password reset mails for contest. again today [20:32] re-running the quttera scan, other scans did not return malware === FurretUber57 is now known as FurretUber [20:53] tomreyn, i've reported this for canonical, but for another reason: i can't seem to find a way to get the cache cleared. https://rt.ubuntu.com/Ticket/Display.html?id=37323 [20:55] and this is clearly a cache issue, since i can get the new content visible when adding any arbitrary query argument: https://xubuntu.org/screenshots/?abc [21:28] knome: ah good point there, hadn't tried that. i had pointed out that last time an IS initiated server side cache purge was needed, though [21:28] the cache seems to have cleared now, though [21:34] i guess at least to me... [21:34] quttera is reporting 9 malicious files [21:35] oh, ftp.free.fr is raising some issues [21:35] i wonder why [21:36] though [21:36] now all of the errors are about it [21:42] "Detected reference to malicious blacklisted domain ftp.free.fr" [21:43] yeah.. [21:43] but nothing about malicious files/content [21:43] and that should indeed be gone from screenshots too [21:44] https://www.virustotal.com/gui/domain/ftp.free.fr/relations [21:45] those seem to be false positives, though [21:46] only CRDF classifies it as malicious [21:46] the domain, yes. but others classify files hoste don it as malicious [21:47] (but not the domain) [21:47] oh well :) [21:48] but yes, the problem just seems to be with a bad classification by CRDF [21:48] there are days when i hope i had nothing to do with computers (: [21:50] i reported http://ftp.free.fr as a FP to https://threatcenter.crdf.fr/ now - "Your request number 202201151145502549 has been sent and will be processed within 12 hours." [21:50] thank you [21:50] though ultimately, that seems minor for us [21:50] and thanks to you [21:51] (fortunately) [21:51] no problem! [21:51] yes, but it's an open source software mirror, affects many projects [21:51] yep [21:51] sure [21:51] though i guess they host tons of stuff [21:51] so you can't ever know if it's all clean [21:51] (and probanly isn't..) [21:52] *b [21:52] so it's sensible to do what every other vendor does, not blacklist the site but the individual (supposed) malware [21:52] indeed [21:56] Places are sometimes stupid about that, I got on a blacklist once for uploading an exe that had FPs to a files section of my site, it was for easier submission to virustotal and otherwise not linked. I got on a blacklist for months IIRC. :/ [21:56] yup... [21:56] and hey JackFrost [21:56] Hello. [21:59] :) AV is sooo broken [22:13] "We are pleased to inform you that the domain name "ftp.free.fr" have been removed from our database. Thank you kindly note that the spread of the new corrected database may take some time (about 4 hours)." [22:13] :) [22:14] and https://quttera.com/detailed_report/www.xubuntu.org is happy now [22:14] indeed, thanks again tomreyn [22:17] and https://quttera.com/detailed_report/xubuntu.org is not. ;-) i'll shut up now. [22:17] huh :P [22:17] but that's the cache surely
