knightwiseyeah zxmpi  if you install it from the repo's it seldom works08:11
knightwisei install it straight from the site08:12

zxmpiseems media companies are trying to sue it offline at the mo08:28
davefOK, so I've never seen this problem before. I'm running an old PC headless, but when I shut it down it doesn't stay powered off. I don't want it running all the time. It will then power itself back on. Here's the weird part, if I leave a keyboard plugged in it will shutdown and power off. 13:21
davefAnd remain off.13:22
zxmpiwake on lan or some other similar thing?13:23
davefThats all turned off13:23
davefI've also made sure all C states are available in the BIOS13:23
daftykinsi've got a Dell that won't power off at shutdown, just comes back up again - tracked it down to some kernel regression but didn't do anything further on it 'cause it is more of a test bench box13:24
davefI'm wondering if it's the case with this too.13:24
davefThere's nothing in the kern.log to suggest it's crashing13:25
davefI might stick freebsd on there to see if that does the same thing, at least then I'll know if it's a linux kernel bug or the motherboard13:25
zxmpieven a live usb distro to save the wiping of current system13:26
davefthere's nothing on it except a bare proxmox install13:26
davefyup, linux kernel bug13:40
davefdoesn't do the same thing on freebsd13:41
davefnow i have to figure out what kernel I can use13:41
davefk, so i'll just roll with fbsd on that box. it's only running a couple of VMs anyway and bhyve can take care of that. VMs are ubuntu :) 16:16
daftykinswonder how XCP-ng would have fared16:17
daftykinsnot really ideal until their lite web interface is ready, mind16:17
davefyeah, that's the only off putting thing, if you want a webui, you need to install the orchestrator VM16:20
davefspinning up a vm on fbsd is easy. plus I was able to migrate what I already had on the other box with no fuss.. so there is that. i wanted to use proxmox because of containers too.16:21
davefbut i might as well stick with jails16:21
davefand now i have christened that box with the name "badger", because I couldn't think of anything else. I'm going to call my VMs mushrooms.16:23
zxmpiand snake :-P16:23
daftykinsoooooh 16:24
davefbehold, the new office chair has arrived!18:16
davef(although I didn't get a shipping notice and wasn't expected until february)18:17
zxmpiit's a fake chair! :-P18:36
daftykinssorry i think that's my cat's one19:06
davefnot for the price i paid it aint19:37
daftykinshehe19:39
zxmpiit's funny when humans think they own cat's stuff19:41
daftykins:)19:43
