[15:55] ah, fair enough [15:56] The issue was the behavior difference between versions < 1.8.1, which proxy all file accesses through the document portal, and later versions, which do not for files the snap has access to anyway. [15:57] Because some apps have file formats with external links encoded inside the file. So choosing a file to open for them means "open the file, then open the files it references". Obviously, this is not possible via the document portal. [15:59] The solution is to fall back to an ugly internal file chooser. But it'd be nice to enable the portal file chooser if possible. I could use a whitelist and parse /etc/lsb-release, but that's not really a nice solution.
