jbichaTrevinho: hi, can you push your mutter work to the ubuntu/master git branch?02:52
dufluOn that note I am seeing gnome-shell crashes in live sessions with 41. It smells like the issues worked around in main-Avoid-meta-finalize.patch but we seem to be including that already05:33

slyonHi seb128, we've been talking about systemd-oomd a while ago. It is now available in the archive and I was wondering what would be the best way to enable it on the desktop, where good integration is already in place? Would you mind giving your review on https://code.launchpad.net/~slyon/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-meta/+git/ubuntu-meta/+merge/414791 if you find a spare cycle?10:52
seb128slyon, hey, thanks for the ping. Do you know about https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SeedManagement ?10:59
slyonI didn't do any seed changes hands-on, so let me read up on that11:00
seb128slyon, the package is generated from the seeds so that's the level where you want to mp changes11:01
slyonoh I see, thanks for the hint. I'll be preparing another MP then11:04
seb128slyon, do you consider it to be a desktop specific feature?11:04
slyonseb128: yes. In theory sd-oomd works anywhere, but in practice it needs some swap space available to work properly. So I'm considering it to be a desktop specific feature, at least for the time beeing (there have been some improvements to sd-oomd updatream wrt. swap management)11:06
seb128slyon, depending where you want to enable it, https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu-seeds/+git/platform/tree/desktop-common could be right if it should be for other desktop flavors11:06
seb128slyon, or https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/ubuntu-seeds/+git/ubuntu/tree/desktop-minimal if you want it for ubuntu-desktop only11:06
seb128slyon, but yes other +1 from us to enable it11:08
slyonthanks! So I'd probably go with desktop-minimal for now, and I will reach out to the flavor leads in parallel, so they can enable it on their own if they want to. I think not all desktop environments are already prepared as nicely as GNOME (and KDE) are wrt. to cgroup isolation of the different processes. So a process going bonkers on a non-GNOME DE could potentially make sd-oomd kill lots of unrelated applications.11:10
seb128right11:13
seb128it makes sense to start with desktop-minimal and let other flavor decide for themself11:13
slyonseb128: thanks for the +1! I've now created: https://code.launchpad.net/~slyon/ubuntu-seeds/+git/platform/+merge/414794 (I'm still reading up on if I need to follow any other process other than getting +1 from the desktop team for this change, and upading+uploading the meta package after the seed change got published)11:33
seb128slyon, thanks, I gave a review +1 now12:26
jbichagood morning y'all13:05

juliankShouldn't gnome-shell be running each app in its own scope below app.slice?15:41
juliankBecause they all run in session-2.scope right now, when I launch them from the shell15:42
