[02:39] display configuration seems to think both of my monitors are the same monitor (if I hit identify) - this is causing them to be mirrored when they shouldn't be... [02:40] but it doesn't seem to be a problem in the login screen - where I can move the mouse from one screen to the other. What could cause this? [02:41] Other background - it was working fine earlier today. I turned off both monitors when my kid was doing school work - that's it. When I startet them both back up, they started this [02:41] omg... fixed it. The screens were literally on top of each other === genii is now known as genii-meeting === genii-meeting is now known as genii-core === genii-core is now known as genii === genii is now known as genii-core [08:41] ok, thats great. every restart my panel is removed. I have to remove the plasmashellrc and restart plasma each time. I am diffing the working and not working plasmashellrc, the main difference I spot is the ScreenConnectors setting...Any idea about this issue? [08:57] I had a similar issue and I pinpointed it to a lastscreen line, so I just remove (or add it not sure) every time it happens [08:57] Unfortunately that PC is offline currently, can't find the exact line that causes the issue === keithzg_ is now known as keithzg [10:51] I would like to report that the installation of R Commander is not possible under Kubuntu 20.4. I have installed R from Discover. R Commander installation was attempted with the usual Dependencies=True option. However, several packages required by R Commander and normally installed in the R Commander installation step did not install. In every [10:51] other Ubuntu based distribution I use (Zorin, Bodhi, Mint XFCE), there are no installation problems. The issue is clearly related to Kubuntu properties. WIll be grateful for any suggestions. [10:52] what is the package name? [10:53] The package is R-base. The additional R package to be installed is R Commander (Rcmdr). It has several dependencies. Some did not install (seemed a compile error). [10:54] clearly exclusive ti Kubuntu, Same 20,04 LTS based distros did not have the problem. [10:55] r has nothing to do with Kubuntu, so I can't see how it can be === Lord_of_Life_ is now known as Lord_of_Life [10:55] It is a package that requires compilers. If the Kubuntu-installed compilers have a problem, so does R [10:56] you will get the same compilers on an flavour [10:56] that is what I thought but it does not seem to be the case here [10:57] if 3 other 20.04 distros have no problem, but Kubuntu does (was fresh OS install, R was first package to be installed) [10:59] if installing R does not drag in the right dependencies, that is an issue with the R packages, not Kubuntu [11:01] well, this would be logical to think, had I not had seen successful installations on 20.4 before. I suppose I do not want to spend time in clearing this up. Seemed an excellent distro, but this limitation prevents use. thanks [11:01] the package r-cran-rcmdr exists in the archive, and I can confirm does install ok :) [11:02] so I am afraid I can't see where your problem on your system lies [11:02] and they left [11:03] * RikMills shrugs [13:49] Hiyas all [15:52] does anyone else think it's odd that i have an i915 chipset and an i7 intel chip but for some reason I dont have a bluetooth adapter installed?
