guiverci've just had 3 failures of focal.4 install - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/196073004:25
ubot93Launchpad bug 1960730 in calamares (Ubuntu) "calamares focal install to sony vaio - failure to boot" [Undecided, New]04:25
guivercif someone can see if I did something wrong, I'd like to hear :)  ....   (beyond the SECURE BOOT ENABLED - my install test was supposed to be DISABLED.. so ignoring that)04:27
* guiverc adds install to BIOS box was perfect though04:28
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> Unable to reproduce @guiverc (2 tests with secure boot))  - will try some other boxes as well (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <guiverc> if someone can see if I did something wrong, I'd like to hear :)  ....   (beyond the SECURE BOOT ENABLED - my install test was supposed to be DISABLED.. so ignoring that))05:34
guivercthanks @Leokolb,  that's actually good to know; i'm still bewildered as to the failure.. I won't touch setting but try again with tomorrow's ISO (same settings) OR may zsync/try xubuntu install if I have time to confirm no box issue05:38
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> like the xubuntu idea if yoy have time..05:41
* guiverc xubuntu zsync running.. last install was ubuntu desktop (the old ISO where it failed to confirm your now thankfully fixed issue I believe)05:43
guivercxubuntu (focal.4) installed... I got a blue background MOK screen I don't normally get on first boot..  (I mostly use uEFI not SECURE-uEFI on this box) I accepted default.. didn't appear subsequent boot(s)06:28
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> looks like the box not the OS06:40
guivercI concur.. 06:40
guiverci've used secure-uEFI before; alas rarely..06:40
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> maybe need to update the box BIOS?06:41
guiverci was wondering that myself..   current plan is to test-install tomorrow's daily; then switch secure back off & re-test & return to leaving it off  (it would have helped if I'd taken more notice of the screen I saw; but I needed reading glasses & not what I was wearing!)06:43
lubot[telegram] <Leokolb> sounds good06:43
