[00:30] Hi All, im hoping to find some help with an audio issue ive been experiencing for the last few weeks. I recently tok the plunge and moved to xubuntu 20.02 from windows server 08 on a hp dl585g2 that im using as a desktop. since the swap ive been having issues with my audio. audio output is being provided by GM204 internal to nvidia gtx980 over [00:30] hdmi. i believe there are actually 2 issues present but i will let yall wizened folk decide on that. first is that no matter how i try setting hdmi as the default audio output the pc will ALWAYS revert to the onboard audio on reboot and RANDOMLY revert during a use session. this reversion during use is somewhat rare, 1-2x over 8-12 hrs.  The other [00:30] issue is that the audio while set to hdmi output will very frequently start to pop and crackle, not like a amp turning on and off kind of poping, more like the amp is being fed to high value of a signal leading to insane amounts of peaking/sausaging. Sometimes this can be corrected by switching to onboard default and back to the nvidia card, [00:30] sometimes a reboot is required, sometimes toggling the default many times will work. im not really sure how to proceed but i can provide any info. [00:30] correction: xubuntu 20.04 [01:43] anybody home?
