[00:16] Hi all. [00:16] Question, 22.04 should be LTS, right? [00:17] yes [00:17] If I want to download and install now, I guess it would be equally easy/possible to move to 22.04 from either 21.10 or 20.04 no? In that case I think I preffer to download 21.10 right now and after getting 22.04 switch to a lts cycle [00:19] you *can* test 22.04 if you want. [00:19] https://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/current/ [00:19] support in #ubuntu-next [00:20] Hmmm maybe, but I think I'll go with 21.10 until 22.04 [00:20] is out offitially [00:20] thanks [00:20] oke, have fun! [00:20] And then spend the next year trying to stop myself from moving off 22.04 to a non lts [00:21] though really for a non-server, non lts should be ok, even if this is half home computer half workstation === hays is now known as h_ === Unit193 is now known as JackFrost [02:46] Hello [02:46] i need help about kubuntu website [02:48] Why u dun help mez === thopiekar is now known as Guest2483 === thopiekar_ is now known as thopiekar === thopiekar is now known as Guest5707 === thopiekar_ is now known as thopiekar [10:55] Hello all... Does anyone have experience with brother dcp t420w driver installation? Have tried downloading the driver from brother website and install it. Kubuntu detect the printer but when tried to test the printer with test print (from cups and printer settings) it won't print. [10:55] What should I do? [10:55] Tried searching for the solution through Google still doesn't give anything. [10:56] I'm using kubuntu 20.04 lts version [13:40] 'Morning folks [13:44] Moin [13:44] But I'm not a morning folk [13:59] Is cups enabled and started? [14:09] mparillo, I don't think cups gui clients will allow you to get to the print test page option/run it if it doesn't have a running (local or remote) cups to connect to [14:40] Thanks. Then I am out of suggestions. Once upon a time I bumped into a problem where I was not in the group of users that were permitted to print, but that was on a different distro. Was never a problem for me on Kubuntu. [14:56] I've had some horrible dealings with cups drivers ages ago, but I'm too rusty to be helpful === peter_ is now known as Guest7016 === genii-core is now known as genii [16:23] feature-tour in site gives 404 [16:23] :( [16:23] 404 [16:23] Sorry, but the requested resource was not found on this site. Before I just could type password and done. [20:57] Is this a known issue? Quite annoying to me, for I was used to be able to quickly unlock my screen [21:15] seems to occur after an update of Plasma from 5.18.5 to 5.18.8 [21:47] just to be sure, filed a bug about it at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-workspace/+bug/1961447 [21:47] Launchpad bug 1961447 in plasma-workspace (Ubuntu) "Cannot unlock screen without mouse click" [Undecided, New] === user|72 is now known as Dave [22:51] My kubuntu OS will not recognize or automatically connect to my router/modem at home. Where do I start to rectify this problem? === alan_ is now known as moondog [22:52] enable DHCP [22:53] how do I do that? [22:57] !dhcp [22:57] dhcp is Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, a protocol for automatic IP assignment from a router. Ubuntu uses dhclient as a DHCP client but other ones (and DHCP servers too) can be obtained from the !repos. More info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DHCP [22:57] Guest2895: ^^ [22:58] that should have been automatically installed and enabled tho [22:59] check your router, Guest2895 [23:00] had network connection this AM, then did my updates for kubuntu, and then network connections quit "connecting" at all. Have restarted router twice. Rebooted once. Still will not connect with my router. [23:00] right-click on Networks icon in bar, Configure Network Connections... Scroll to bottom and click the + to add a connection, choose the appropriate selections [23:01] You could try at commandline to just release and renew with the dhclient command [23:51] s10T
