ladminHi !10:41
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Hi10:42
dragon_is there an installer prackage for Chromium in in Muon?11:19
dragon_I see quite a few dummy packages11:19
dragon_I tend to prefer FF, but it is suppose to work with Teams, and chromium isn`t as heavily burdended as Google Chrome11:21
kc2bezdragon_: the deb package installs the snap for chromium 11:21
dragon_you mean from their site?11:21
kc2bezNo when you install the deb package from muon it installs the snap of chromium. It comes from snapcraft.io11:23
dragon_I can`t find deb nor stable chromium package in moun?11:23
dragon_I find transitional packages and extensions11:24
kc2bezRight. It is transitional because it installs the snap package. 11:24
dragon_hmm11:32
dragon_I have this https://pasteboard.co/hlbeQ791tJKg.jpg11:32
kc2bezThe only way to get chromium is to use the chromium-browser package and install the snap11:33
kc2bez!info chromium-browser11:33
ubottuchromium-browser (1:85.0.4183.83-0ubuntu2, impish): Transitional package - chromium-browser -> chromium snap. In component universe, is optional. Built by chromium-browser. Size 48 kB / 160 kB. (Only available for i386, amd64, armhf, arm64.)11:33
dragon_it is not on my moun list is it?11:34
dragon_Muon I man11:34
kc2bezIt is 2 up from the one you have selected in your screenshot.11:35
dragon_thanks11:35
dragon_ooh, it works11:46
dragon_browser and teams11:46
kc2bez\o/11:46
dragon_thanks again11:47
kc2bezsure thing11:47
dragon_haven`t used chromium in ages11:47
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Forwarded from lubuntu_bot: (irc) <sourabh> Hi, I'm unable to connect to internet via lan or wifi dongle. Please help. I do not have a built in wifi11:47
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Forwarded from Frosty197: 21.10 (Impish Indri)11:47
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Forwarded from Frosty197: There is a advanced network manager but I'm not able to connect/ don't know how to in it. Network manager doesn't read both lan Nor my wifi dongle11:47
dragon_would that be a case of not tagging of for proprietary drivers?11:48
dragon_...and being forced to use a wired connection to the router...11:48
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Even wired isn't working11:49
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> I've never used linux before so simpler non technical English would help 😅 (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <dragon_> would that be a case of not tagging of for proprietary drivers?)11:50
kc2bezI would make sure you have it enabled. There is a screenshot in our manual page. https://manual.lubuntu.me/stable/3/3.1/3.1.5/nm-tray.html?highlight=network11:50
dragon_you likely need to connect the pc you newly installed lubuntu on to your router (or internet connection) via a cable11:51
dragon_they go menu-preferances-additinal drives and do an upgrade11:52
dragon_then it tends to sort itself out when the right driver packages are downloaded 11:53
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> I've tried all the above mentioned  , the problem is it doesn't show any connections when I open nm tray11:53
dragon_double click mouse (or other click) wifi request-scan?11:55
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> I don't have built-in Wi-Fi i used a dongle and i don't get any option to connect to internet via dongle as well11:56
dragon_dongle, a usb connected external thing?11:56
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Yeah11:56
dragon_it should be detected by the system, if you tag off or additional drivers11:56
dragon_try a different USB port, it can sometimes oddly prefer one over another11:57
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Tried that too11:57
dragon_then I have no idea11:57
dragon_...well, go throgh the steps carefully and see if there might be something11:58
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> I've been trying over and over, is there any other version where it's easier to connect11:59
dragon_did you try a reboot?12:03
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Yes three times12:04
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Nm tray won't show wired or wifi (usb)12:05
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> No pending driver updates either12:05
Noumenosomeone with problems with telegram desktop in jammy? 12:11
Noumenotelegram-desktop 12:11
NoumenoAborted (core dumped)12:11
dragon_I could never get Telegram to work, I don`t receive the confirmation code12:12
dragon_I gave up on it12:12
dragon_you usb thing has the indicator light on Frosty?12:13
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> I guess i gotta shift back to windows 7 (re @Frosty197: Nm tray won't show wired or wifi (usb))12:13
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Yeah (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <dragon_> you usb thing has the indicator light on Frosty?)12:13
dragon_no, just work with it, 12:13
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> It was working properly, i had windows 10 on it and it was very slow so I wanted to shift to faster os12:13
dragon_windows 10 shouldn`t be that slow?12:14
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> I tried to install chromium but my screen went black after i hit "get started"12:14
dragon_well, it was on my other portable, but I needed a new hd12:14
dragon_ssd12:14
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> It's a old laptop, not much powerful (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <dragon_> windows 10 shouldn`t be that slow?)12:14
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> I'm trying to get it work decently so I could give it to a student in need for online studies or something.12:15
dragon_well, it runs well on 8GB ram I think, regular cpu specs, and I know old harddrives can get slow, and SSDs speeds things up considerably12:15
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> It's probably got 4 or 2gb ram i guess. Let me replace word old with ancient.12:16
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Is there a command code to check the specs12:16
dragon_you need to get the lubuntu pc on the internet, that is the first, get the right cable form the pc to the right slot in the router or whatever connection you have12:16
dragon_at university we had these outlets on the wall12:17
dragon_ethernet cable, 12:17
dragon_when you can use the browser, it will download updates and packages needed12:18
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> I tried to connect ethernet as well it just not working idk Why it doesn't show in nm tray either (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <dragon_> you need to get the lubuntu pc on the internet, that is the first, get the right cable form the pc to the right slot in the router or whatever connection you have)12:18
dragon_it will show up in the nm tray when you actually have a connection12:18
dragon_try a different outlet on the router 12:18
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> That's why I'm trying but only if it connects (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <dragon_> when you can use the browser, it will download updates and packages needed)12:19
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Okay I'll and update you (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <dragon_> try a different outlet on the router)12:19
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> ? (re @Frosty197: Is there a command code to check the specs)12:22
dragon_I think you can check specs in htop12:32
dragon_menu-system tools-htop12:32
dragon_in termial too I think, but I don`t know the commands12:35
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Okay (re @lubuntu_bot: (irc) <dragon_> menu-system tools-htop)12:38
dragon_in htop you just move your cursor and click on the column titles and functions, there are a few Fkey commands, easier than terminal13:05
lubot[telegram] <Frosty197> Okay ! I'm not around the laptop rn, will let know!13:06
