johnc | Could someone please point me to how to load and install Kubuntu? I have the .iso file - by downloading it into windows, then copying it onto a laptop that I want to run Kubuntu on. I changed the boot drive to usb. It ignored it. All the advice online says to select language, etc, but it doesn't boot, so how I do that? I cannot find any | 19:18 |
johnc | advice that says what you actually do to get the .iso file to run, leaving me with a fresh computer with nothing else on it except kubuntu. Is there such a thing somewhere? Thanks | 19:18 |
johnc | I meant copying it onto a usb stick then putting the stick into the laptop. | 19:22 |
alkisg | johnc: you just copied the .iso inside the stick? That won't work, you need to use a program so that you make it bootable | 19:35 |
alkisg | E.g. have a look at ventoy if you don't have any other instructions | 19:35 |
Maik | johnc: same as with main Ubuntu, just follow this guide: https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows#1-overview | 19:40 |

mdiehl | Hi all. I was using kontact's calendar module and managed to make the date navigator and calendar manager disappear by resizing the panel. How can I reset the screen layout? | 21:55 |
