lubot_[telegram] <heysoundude> I’d be interested to see if you’ve managed to get it working. I wasn’t aware the Linux version was stable enough to consider release-quality rather than beta, but I’ve not checked in there for at least a year. (re @UnrealNinjaMark: a strange thing, with the Software Sources program I can enable and disable all repositories. When I disable all the repositories but the default ones, it gives me the same error when it reloads the 01:58

lubot_[telegram] <The_LoudSpeaker> I have a ubuntu 20.04 system. The GNOME desktop is quite resouce intensive on my poor celeron 2 core system. I want to install lubuntu desktop on it and remove the gnome desktop. Is there a way to do this without reinstalling the whole distro?08:07
guiverc@The_Loudspeaker, You can just install `lubuntu-desktop` & leave GNOME still installed (this system I'm using is a Ubuntu install originally with other desktops including lubuntu-desktop added to it).  You can remove `ubuntu-desktop` then install `lubuntu-desktop` too (inc other way around) but I've not done it recently with 20.04 so I can't recall the issues (issues with multiple desktops seem to vary on release.. I'd do a test on a VM first & 08:21
guivercexpect both ways to work, but one possibly 'neater' than the other08:21

ubottuPlease don't ask to ask a question, simply ask the question (all on ONE line and in the channel, so that others can read and follow it easily). If anyone knows the answer they will most likely reply. :-) See also !patience13:02

Lameflame2I think the download button for the LTS version is broken, gotta let you know.16:26
lubot_[telegram] <N0um3n0> Is working for me16:28
lubot_[telegram] <kc2bez> I think it is a mirror problem.16:29
Lameflame2Doesn't do anything for me and neither for my friend. Not the torrent, that works interestingly.16:30
lubot_[telegram] <kc2bez> http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/focal/ doesn't show anything for releases.16:30

jk_hello, I have a question regarding sylpheed, oauth2, and gmail. gmail is cutting off their so-called "less secure apps"-support and switching to OAuth2. how do I set up this for sylpheed? does anyone he know? I haven't been that successful on my searches -_-22:37
jk_:%s/does anyone he/does anyone here/g22:38
kc2bezjk_: I would be somewhat shocked if Sylpheed supported oauth2. We don't ship Sylpheed in Lubuntu so there may not be too many folks that can help you here with that.22:44
jk_oh... I thought Sylpheed was Lubuntu-standard :P22:48
jk_... I am on alpine22:49
kc2bezWe have shipped Trojita since 18.1022:49
jk_alright! good to know! thanx! and now that we are on the subject: does Trojita supports OAuth2?22:50
kc2bezNo, that doesn't either. We will be dropping a mail client in 22.04.22:51
jk_oh... wow! ehmm... wait you mean you Lubuntu will introduce a new e-mail client or that Lubuntu will stop shipping with a preinstalled e-mail client?22:52
kc2bezWe will not ship a preinstalled mail client.22:53
kc2bezFolks will still be free to install any mail client they choose from the Ubuntu repositories.22:54
jk_I see... I have read about too much complexity on the programming side with this shift towards OAuth222:54
jk_jup, freedom of choice!22:55
