=== waveform_ is now known as waveform [19:45] Huh, so Nvidia and Samsung git breached recently. Fun times. [19:46] and they're just the companies that have admitted to being breached. [19:55] i'm sure there's more to come [19:56] almost like and bear with me here you shouldn't put stuff you want to keep secret on public network :-P [19:58] hehe [19:59] i've got to have a meeting tomorrow with my pal and these guys that are pushing hard for using AWS for this thing, but they sent us a proposal document and i've genuinely never seen a worse piece of work that is allegedly made by adults in my life [20:00] everyone else is doing it! it must be safe! [20:01] they drew a diagram of how they imagined it working - and threw on a bunch of federated login stuff that doesn't even apply to our setup [20:01] to me it reads like someone trying to wow you with terms and hoping you won't attempt to look them up yourself [20:03] take out your buzzword bingo card and cross off the jargon used at the meeting :-P [20:05] \o/ [20:05] i've managed to get them to shunt it back a bit so i can chat to my pal and explain just how terrible it is before we speak to them [20:06] ...and if any of them say blockchain so help you you won't be rsponsible for your actions :-P [20:10] it'll be good there's the English Channel between! [20:23] wow, what market share does firefox have again? https://www.howtogeek.com/790234/firefox-97-is-under-attack-update-now-to-protect-yourself/ [20:24] I use FF [20:24] same but it's a pretty niche brower at this point [20:25] and that makes me sad [20:26] me too - and i'm sad about it too [20:32] mozilla seems intent on driving away their userbase with every change and not seeing any new users for their troubles [20:36] tbh, I've been giving MS Edge a good poke and it's doing a darn good job. I just saw today it now support picture-in-picture for video, something I used often in FF. [20:37] i usually have 3-4 browsers on the go at any time and switch between them for certain sites/addons/features. currently firefox, chromium, vivaldi, midori [20:39] I've been using Edge as my primary browser for work, I've quite enjoyed using it. [20:43] zxmpi: you get his legs [20:51] i'll get my hacksaw... :-P [20:52] hmm, takes a while to get through ankles though [20:58] it's all about the speed. fastest amputation had a 300% casulty rate. done in 12? seconds. patient died, man holding him down( no anaesthetic) died from infection when doctor cut off a few of his fingers and an onlooker died from heart attack. [20:59] something i always remember when people talk about the good old days [21:00] i have 3 bones to pick with you, Doctor! [21:02] //looks at inflamation around wound// i'll meet you next week [21:25] MS Edge works great on Ubuntu :-X [21:59] i have heard that. i'll never know :-P [22:02] but you'll be left wondering 'what if', forever on the edge of your seat... [22:24] after using ms software from late 80s to early 00s i'm confident in my decision :-)
