It must be working well for the next 2 years at least. So between Fedora, Kubuntu-Jelly and KDEneon (if already available with 22.04 base [12:55] hello, I have to quickly install a Plasma-distro. It must be working well for the next 2 years at least. So between Fedora, Kubuntu-Jelly and KDEneon (if already available with 22.04 base), what should I choose ? [13:04] @Technopat_Official only kubuntu is supported in this channel, Neon has their own support channel and group. But KDE Neon isn't based on 22.04 as of yet, they wait until July maybe August before they switch base. Kubuntu Jelly hasn't been release yet, that will happen on April 21. Fedora releases are only supported for 13 months. [13:06] so Kubuntu-daily-build is stable enough to become a good 22.04 install ? [13:08] So i would wait until April until Kubuntu 22.04 comes out if you need a stable, daily to use LTS release or.... install Kubuntu 20.04 LTS and upgrade in July after the first point release of 22.04 has been released. [13:09] @Technopat_Official Kubuntu 22.04 LTS being still in development is not recommended to use as a daily driver on workstations [13:10] even if I'm not bad in troubleshooting? (re @IrcsomeBot: @Technopat_Official Kubuntu 22.04 LTS being still in development is not recommended to use as a daily driver on workstations) [13:14] even if I'm not bad in troubleshooting? [13:14] I'm playing with LMDE5-beta, I'm not afraid, it's already more stable than W10... (re @IrcsomeBot: @Technopat_Official Kubuntu 22.04 LTS being still in development is not recommended to use as a daily driver on workstations) [13:17] You want a system that must be working well, so i gave you some options. Using 22.04 now on a workstation, which i think you need on a daily base, is not recommended. [13:19] if you just want to play around and test then you don't need a stable system. [13:19] choice is all yours [13:21] thank you, you're right. On MY workstation I would try 22.04 but for my Mother... it's decided: Kubuntu 22.10 ! It's great and very mature now (re @IrcsomeBot: You want a system that must be working well, so i gave you some options. Using 22.04 now on a workstation, which i think you need on a daily base, is not recommended.) [13:22] good luck and have fun [13:26] mmmh...21.10 instead of 22.10 😅 I dont't have fun with Kubuntu, everything works it's boring 😂 (re @IrcsomeBot: good luck and have fun) [13:26] Support for 21.10 ends in July [13:27] yes, perfect time to switch to 22.04.1 ;) (re @IrcsomeBot: Support for 21.10 ends in July) [13:30] your choice.... i'd still go with 20.04 LTS and then upgrade in July.
