[14:31] yurtesen: the usual way is to open a bug against the package on launchpad, and subscribe ubuntu-sponsors to the bug. [14:44] Thanks, I have done that now. Also I realized some bug reports with debdiffs are automatically recognized and ubuntu-sponsors are added by a bot. But it did not happen when I added the debdiff, why could that be? I had extension .debdiff but I saw that some people just use .patch but I guess it should not matter. [14:47] The bot is more meant as a way to have less contributions falling through the cracks because of the contributor forgetting to do the subscribing. I doubt it's meant to be relied upon ;) [15:16] I have a bug effecting the tomcat package in jammy. I would like to make a debdiff for fixing it also. But I am not sure what would be an acceptable solution. It is caused by Ubuntu running rsyslogd as syslog user while in debian it runs as root. I am guessing running rsyslogd as root is not going to be an acceptable solution. There could be other solutions like changing the tomcat lograted [15:16] conf so it can rotate catalina.out as syslog user and not tomcat user. As tomcat user is not able to rotate/truncate log files created by rsyslogd therefore owned by syslog. Here is more details: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tomcat9/+bug/1964881 [15:16] Launchpad bug 1964881 in tomcat9 (Ubuntu) "Logging/Log rotation does not work for catalina.out" [Undecided, New] === RikMills__ is now known as RikMills
