[00:28] @valorie @Eickmeyer @ahoneybun_ @RikMills Proposed Colorized SVG using official Kubuntu bug hue: https://michaelmikowski.com/jammy-jelly-kblue-all.svg [00:36] I think it looks good. [00:47] yes, I like it too [00:52] Same [00:58] @ahoneybun_ @valorie @RikMills Do you want to use this for Kubuntu jellyfish. Of course, we could do other color mapping if you wish :) [01:01] Mm I think so [01:11] Perhaps this is something for the Kubuntu council to decide. I propose we make this the official Kubuntu 22.04 Jammy Jelly SVG. That way, everyone could use the same graphic. [01:12] If not this one, then some other image that we can all agree upon. [01:13] I like it. [12:50] Hi all [12:51] BluesKaj: heyo [13:08] hey ahoneybun_ [19:26] Back to ISOs from IMGs for JJ? [19:35] mparillo: yep [19:53] I like the image and agree that we should use it [19:54] thank you mmikowski for your work, and ahoneybun_ as well [19:54] That's 2/6 votes. [19:54] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1966204 is still there. [19:54] Launchpad bug 1966204 in ubiquity (Ubuntu Jammy) "Kubuntu jammy install hangs at creating ext4 filesystem (33%)" [Critical, In Progress] [19:54] and RikMills and mparillo [19:55] when does the beta drop? [19:58] Looks like 2022-03-31 [19:58] https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/jammy-jellyfish-release-schedule/23906 [19:59] Does anybody know if Rick responded beyond https://lists.launchpad.net/kubuntu-council/msg00833.html [19:59] Hi @valorie, no worries. It just took about 90 minutes to remap all the colors. But now it is done, and I have a script. [19:59] You can have the script if you want :) [19:59] -) [20:00] I do not do graphics work.... I was an artist in all kinds of media but never jumped over to making art virtually [20:00] The script will take any grey scale image *with the same color pallet* and colorize to the saturated blue hue. I don't know if this applies to any other image, but if you see the same pallette, it's worth a shot. [20:01] It must be an SVG, btw, as it uses sed to do an in-place update of the pallette colors [20:01] ask me for help with genealogy research and I'm *good* [20:01] lol [20:01] there is only so much time in each day [20:02] Ah, you will like the latest we put together for the quick help widget, I think. I can send you a sneak peek... [20:04] https://michaelmikowski.com/hint_00_badge.png [20:05] nice! [20:06] @valorie the jelly and tentacles are translucent, so they glow on top of any background. [20:07] cool! [20:07] The tentacles on the bottom were originally a mistake, but we liked them so much, we kept them and faded them in to create a bottom edge. [20:07] This isn't final - there are font and style changes incoming... [20:07] Thanks :) [20:23] @valorie: Final. Just reload the above image to see the preview. I'll be removing this shortly, FWIW. [20:57] @valorie, I'm going to pull that image shortly. If you need any more design work for Kubuntu, let me know. And thanks for your help. [21:00] I like that the jellyfish seems to be looking forward [21:01] which is not really how jellies work, but it works for the image [21:01] :-) [21:02] Yeah, I'll roll with the official. Not a hill to die on. I opened up the fonts to be rounder and the horizontal bars now give more breathing room to the text, so it looks a lot nicer on the default desktop.
