[12:16] ~24 hours ago I noted a reddit post that mentioned a Xubuntu jammy install (without internet) results in NO firefox being installed. I've not had time to test for it & raise bug report (if it's true). I did look & saw the manifest only has *deb* package that downloads/installs snap & no snap on ISO (unlike say Lubuntu).. [12:23] guiverc: that's probably because xubuntu seeds need to have the various snaps installed .. at the moment just the firefox transition package is in the seeds [12:23] yep my conclusion too.. (what I replied on reddit when I compared lubuntu's & xubuntu's..) [12:32] thanks fossfreedom :) [17:22] [telegram] Ubuntu upgrade from 20.04.4 to 22.04 crashes - has anyone upgraded sucessfully? [17:22] [telegram] https://matterbridge.thomas-ward.net/f062c7bc/giphy.mp4 [17:22] [telegram] The new installer is once again broken [17:22] [telegram] downloading the image for the older installer from yesterday now to test if that works [17:22] [telegram] What flavour? (re @bittin1: The new installer is once again broken) [17:22] [telegram] regular Ubuntu, the older installer image from 26th March worked tough (re @Leokolb: What flavour?) [17:22] [telegram] but todays Canary image is bork [17:22] [telegram] (I don't think bridge to IRC is working.. so re-posting).. [17:22] [telegram] (it probably needs kicked, the bridge) [17:22] [telegram] (for this channel.. but I'm in a number of rooms & maybe mis-remembering) [17:22] [telegram] I'm mentioning in case I forget, or don't have time tomorrow too... I planned to test today & file bug once confirmed (I won't trust a reddit post until I've verified it) but it's near 23:30 & I'm going to have to head to bed soon... no time today... [17:22] [telegram] Might be able to test it later today (re @guiverc: I'm mentioning in case I forget, or don't have time tomorrow too... I assume you have a separate boot partition (re @Leokolb: If anyone has time - great to get a confirm on this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1966774) [17:31] [telegram] Just a simple btrfs partition / plus the efi boot partition (re @teward001: got an example partition layout for me to replicate? I assume you have a separate boot partition) [17:31] [telegram] ok because i don't have uefi enabled i have the 8mb bios-grub partition, a /boot fat32, and now running install. stbdy [17:32] [telegram] big tks [17:33] [telegram] confirmed and marked as such [17:34] [telegram] thanks @teward001 also good to have the BIOS as well as UEFI [17:41] [telegram] yep. i need to back up my data sooner or later i'm getting to the point a clean install is needed >.< [22:14] [telegram] Thanks...
