[13:41] Is there a way to use debian installer in Xubuntu? [13:47] mva13: you can probably use the server ISO and apt-get install xubuntu-desktop [13:47] though I've never tried it [13:47] though 22.04 doesn't have d-i anymore either [13:47] subiquity is a stepback as well [13:49] What about kickstart? I never tried it but official Ubuntu documentation states that it can be used. [13:52] no clue sorry [13:52] though do you have that many desktops to install? [13:53] I need to make an automatic installer for a bunch of people who are not very familiar with computers. [14:43] actually. i think they did have it but it was unsupported [14:43] I think they don't have the net installer anymore. There was a whole bunch of discussion about it last release === edun is now known as qbt [18:34] Hi Everyone. I am have installed xubuntu-core on top of Ubuntu 22.04 server. [18:34] All is working great, except I cannot figure out how to do autologin. [18:34] I have tried to add "[Seat*:] entry in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf, but this does not work. [18:44] I'm pretty sure you just need two lines like: autologin-guest=false and: autologin-user=yourusernamehere and put them in file: /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/70-autologin.conf ...then restart lightdm [18:48] Unless you're trying something tricky like a multiseat config [18:57] No multi-seat - only I use this PC [18:58] So, do I need "[Seat*:]"   or   "[SeatDefaults]" at the start of the file ? (as I seen in the mainly list and elsewhere) ? [18:58] Is this the source of my issues ? [18:59] And what about haning "nopasswdlogin" at /etc/group ? Is this needed ? [19:02] Will reboot now to test the solution - thanks genil ! === TheMaster is now known as Unit193
