JrmieBlais[m]Hii ?18:55
JrmieBlais[m]Is anybody here ?18:57
JrmieBlais[m]I have an issue.18:58
JrmieBlais[m]I have an issue with a kernel tunable I used to have with every linux distribution including Ubuntu Studio but it is not present in my current iteration of Ubuntu Studio. Why is that ? That tunable is sched_latency_ns under /proc/sys/kernel/sched_latency_ns . Very useful but not present.18:59
EickmeyerWe don't support kernels aside from the kernels included in Ubuntu.18:59
JrmieBlais[m]So Ubuntu's fault ? I mean I doubt the regular distribution of Ubuntu has that problem but maybe... Weird...19:00
EickmeyerUbuntu Studio *is* Ubuntu. Not a separate distribution.19:01
JrmieBlais[m]But the kernel is lowlatency19:01
EickmeyerYes... provided by Ubuntu.19:01
JrmieBlais[m]ah... okay19:01
JrmieBlais[m]I see... thanks for the info19:02
EickmeyerOfficial Flavors do not carry packages that cannot be found in any other version of Ubuntu.19:02
Eickmeyer!flavors19:02
ubottuRecognized Ubuntu flavors build on Ubuntu and provide a different user experience out of the box. They are supported both in #ubuntu and in their flavor channel. For a list, see https://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu-flavours19:02
JrmieBlais[m]So it is Ubuntu acting weird I guess...19:02
EickmeyerAgain, if you're using a kernel outside of what's in the repos, it is not supported.19:03
JrmieBlais[m]It is the default one19:03
EickmeyerJrmieBlais[m]: You might want to join #ubuntu-kernel:libera.chat (<-- click on that) and ask there.19:04
EickmeyerWe're not kernel experts here.19:04
JrmieBlais[m]Eickmeyer: ok thanks will check !19:06
EickmeyerJrmieBlais[m]: Also, be patient. Although people lurk, they might not be looking.19:07
JrmieBlais[m]Okay. Will be. Thanks again!19:08
Eickmeyer:)19:08
