[18:16] :] Hello [19:24] Всем привет [20:34] hallo [21:41] Hi there, I'm trying to upgrade my Xubuntu 20.04 LTS to 22.04 LTS, but "sudo do-release-upgrade" fails with "There is no development version of an LTS available.". Should I just wait a couple of days for the Xubuntu team to catch up or am I missing something? [21:58] I have downloaded the new OS twice, onto different USBs and it does everything to install up to the "Restart".   Then, when I hit restart, it displays xubuntu for a couple seconds, then just...ah...nothing. [21:59] P.S.   I've been operating this machine on xubuntu 18.04, then 20.04 for about 3 years with no problems.   I'm not a moron. [22:31] hello :) [22:31] Im working on a linux environment cnc machine and i could really use some help [22:39] hypernoob needs help with password, anyone in here? (Xubuntu 18.04) [22:49] Administrator Password Recovery needed. [23:06] Hibernaut: Maybe like this: Here are easy instructions to reset your password in Ubuntu: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/resetpassword . [23:14] yes i've seen this and tried, I cannot find this menu. i can enter bios but not GRUB, am i missing something? [23:17] Hibernaut: I know nothing of a CNC machine - but when the bios screen clears try pressing a shift key to get grub's attention. [23:29] It's a small PC running Xubuntu 18.04, the CNC stuff is downstream and not germane to this issue.  i've tried  and seemingly randomly, while trying this method, I got a command line that said "SHELL" otherwise unable to enter GRUB. is it possible that the previous owner somehow locked dow GRUB options? [23:35] Hibernaut: I don't think the latter is even possible to such an extent. Also, does hitting the Escape key work any better for you? [23:41] Hibernaut: ^^ EFI system - then grub looks for the escape key - only a 3 second winow of opporunity - spam the escape key in this event. [23:41] window*
