IOhannescan i just close a bug on launchpad that was a) reported against the wrong package (the user had problems with their audio interface, and reported the issue against the "snd" package; i think it's pretty obvious that the issue is *not* with the 'snd' package but with "sound" in general) and b) reported against Eoan16:01
IOhannesor should i re-assign it against some other package? e.g. on Debian there's a 'general' pseudopackage. is there something like this in Ubuntu?16:02
IOhannesthe bug-report is LP:#187443616:02
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1874436 in snd (Ubuntu) "I have no sound after upgrading to Eoan. I have tried reinstalling drivers. I had a wifi problem too which i solved. But the sound i cannot figure out." [Undecided, New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/187443616:02
cjwatsonIOhannes: The equivalent is a bug that's targeted to Ubuntu with no package name16:03
IOhannesthere's also practically a duplicate LP:#1284186 (reported against Saucy)16:04
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1284186 in snd (Ubuntu) "no sound after dist-upgrade" [Undecided, New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/128418616:04
cjwatsonFor that sort of thing who knows whether it's actually a duplicate ...16:04
IOhannescjwatson: true16:04
IOhannesanyhow: thanks, i'll (try to) unassign the bugs from 'snd' then.16:05
IOhannesotoh: will anybody ever look into such a bug then?16:05
IOhannes(giving the age of the bug-reports)16:05
IOhanness/giving/given/16:06
cjwatsonI can't answer that16:08
