fricklerany idea on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/reprepro/+bug/1968198 ? this is affecting opendev now in our attempt to support jammy images04:56
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1968198 in reprepro (Ubuntu) "Issue with mirroring 22.04 on a 20.04 host." [Undecided, Confirmed]04:56
frickleroh, seems to have gotten past this now, error messages about two specific pkgs but now seem to be continuing05:11
yurtesengood morning07:50
yurtesenutkarsh2102: so what is our status now? :)07:50
FossilOn nearly every box I upgraded from 20.04 to 22.04 so far DNS stopped working. All of them used systemd-resolved and resolv.conf still shows 127.0.0.53 as the nameserver. Yet no domains are getting resolved. Didn't see anything in release notes, did I miss something stupid or?09:41
fricklerFossil: can you show the output of "systemctl status systemd-resolved.service" and "resolvectl status"? use paste.ubuntu.com09:56
FossilI dont have an Ubuntu One account so can't use the paste apparently. Here's the output https://kopy.io/WDLeG#dgBDOFXygFphjO09:57

jbichahi, there's a simple patch identified for LP: #1970194 if someone wants to work on that13:54
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1970194 in wordpress (Ubuntu) "ubuntu 22.04 package wordpress incompatible with default php version 8.1" [High, Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/197019413:54
sdezielhaving wordpress packaged in the archive is a disservice to the users. This thing is updated frequently for security issues but AFAICT, what's in Ubuntu archive remains frozen13:57
jbichaI agree. It ought to be removed unless someone will commit to maintaining it.14:01
sdezieltalk if cheap, I'll fill a bug ;)14:02
sdezielI should have done so long ago14:02
jbichait's rare for a package to be removed from a stable release, but it would be good for Kinetic14:03
jbichathanks!14:03
sdezieljbicha: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wordpress/+bug/197044014:15
ubottuLaunchpad bug 1970440 in wordpress (Ubuntu) "wordpress should be removed from the archives" [Undecided, New]14:15
jbichasdeziel: please subscribe ubuntu-archive . Maybe add a comment about adding it to the sync blocklist/blacklist14:16
sdezieljbicha: thanks, done!14:17
OneBitHello, i want install a ubuntu-server via cloud-init autoinstall. I have two disks and i want RAID 1. Is this possible?14:38
feurigDid the zfs root stuff from desktop make it to the server install yet?14:40
feurigIf so I would look at a zfs mirror than raid 1. Its a lot more flexible. And snapshots.14:41
feurigs/than/rather than/14:41
OneBitUbuntu server can run cloud-init during installation, but I don't know exactly how that works with RAID14:45
nshiredoes anyone have a recommendation on a way to install ubuntu server onto a completely headless machine? This system has no GPU at all.22:23
nshireI have physical access though. my current plan is to mount the hdd into a vm and install it from there22:24
bryycenshire, there's various non-graphical installation mechanisms, if you're interested particularly in Ubuntu Server, this would be a pertinent starting point:  https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/install-ubuntu-server22:25
nshirethere's non-graphical(console) and then there's my situation, I literally have no video out of graphics processor. no ipmi or anything22:30
nshireif only I could get it to autoconnect to ssh or something22:30
bryycenshire, what does the system have, connection-wise?22:33
nshireonly usb and ethernet22:33
nshirehm I might have a spare ancient gpu just for some temporary video out22:33
bryyceusb video cards are also a thing, but not sure if that'd work if you don't have bios access.  Have you checked the manual to see if it has pxe boot support or some way to image it?22:37
patdk-lapyou don't need video output22:41
patdk-lapI have done net-boot installs remotely, and also serial-console22:42
nshirewhat was your net boot setup like?22:42
patdk-lapmine is pxe based22:42
patdk-lapI'm not even sure how I built it, was almost 10years ago, and it just works still22:43
nshireI'd imagine you'd need to first set it up in bios22:44
patdk-laphttps://ciborski.com/debian-installation-over-ssh/22:44
patdk-lapno idea how hard that is to port to a current ubuntu iso but likely not difficult22:45
patdk-lapsetup what in bios? nothing to setup with pxe22:45
sarnoldnot all systems come with pxe booting as one of the boot choices22:45
patdk-lapodd, I have never seen that22:46
patdk-lapevery unused office pc would pxe boot a master image of windows for guest usage, and be wiped on reboot, was insanely useful at work22:47
sarnoldthat sounds nice :D22:49
nshireI know this board *had* pxe, but I think it was removed to make room for amd ryzen 3000 support22:50
nshireso i'll go another route22:51
nshireit currently has 20.04 installed. does ubuntu have an option to "factory reset" itself?22:51
nshirethis is going to be too annoying, I'll just remove the hdd and put it in my desktop's hotswap bay and install that way22:54
bryycenshire, yep, that works well, done that many times.  :-)22:56
gemclipnshire just got here whats the issue?22:56
sarnoldnshire: given efi booting these days, that might not work as reliably as you'd like22:56
nshiregemclip, I want to fully reinstall ubuntu on a system that has no gpu or ipmi interface22:56
gemclipDoing User Management, can you assign a group to another group? If so, is it bad practice?23:03
sarnoldwhat does it mean to 'assign a group to another group'?23:03
gemclipnshire: https://github.com/mhf-ir/ubuntu-overssh-reinstallation23:04
gemclipsarnold Say I have a group called 'accounting' and i want to assign all those users to say 'management'23:05
