Heini | Hi, I wonder, why the window for file upload in firefox is so wide. It is too wide for my screen and I have to move it to get the button on the right hand side, see screenshot. It is not possible to change the windows size with the mouse. The same behavior happens for download window, if you have the possibilitiy to select the destination (e.g. | 05:15 |
Heini | pdf- viewer in firefox). And it does not matter if the view is set to symbols, details, ... | 05:15 |
Heini | Does someone have an idea how I get the windows smaller? Is it a bug? | 05:15 |
guiverc | You can use left-ALT & drag-the-size of a window to make it smaller/large. Providing release details can be helpful too Heini | 05:32 |
guiverc | (as would screen resolution; ie. https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt/issues/1731 .. I recall experiencing it but can't find issue to remind myself on launchpad) | 05:38 |
ubottu | Issue 1731 in lxqt/lxqt "many dialogs are too big for smaller screens" [Open] | 05:38 |
Heini | Hi guiverc, I'm sorry, it's the latest release, 22.04, last system update yesterday. I see, the problem in known, thank's for the information. I will wait for an update. | 05:41 |
guiverc | what resolution? the issue I mentioned occurs only on small screens; too small that LXQt consider them too small; I can't find lp issue which would tell me on what machine I experienced it | 05:42 |
Heini | 1280x1024, I think it is not very small. I have a HP Compaq 6910p laptop with external screen. The issue, you mentioned, mentions Lubuntu 19.10. Is is still that problem? | 05:46 |
guiverc | yeah I noted that too.. but I can't find it on launchpad so I can look up the box where it's recorded against.. I still use those screens where I experienced the issue (I'm convinced), haven't experienced it in awhile, but as I can't find the launchpad (lubuntu) bug report I'm limited to only that I recall (ie. minimal detail) | 05:48 |
Heini | I can make the window bigger, but not smaller. It seems, that the minimum size is set to that value. But I see no need for that, the content would fit into a smaller window, too. Do you think the problem is already reported? | 05:55 |
guiverc | Heini, you're describing it with `firefox` on 22.04; firefox is now a snap so your issue is likely different to what I'm thinking of & described. I'd report a new bug | 05:56 |
guiverc | ie. I'd report a new bug if I was you; what I meant with my final sentance | 05:57 |
guiverc | https://phab.lubuntu.me/w/bugs/ (for details on bug reporting if required) | 05:57 |
Heini | ok, thank you, I will do that. | 05:58 |
guiverc | (don't be worried if the two bugs get linked; ie. what I can't find & your new report.. you'll have helped find what I cannot currently find & helped get attention to that issue... cause us to re-test for it) | 05:58 |
Heini | The command ubuntu-bug rejected my report, because firefox is provided by a snap published by mozilla. I should report there. | 06:25 |
guiverc | Given that's where you're experiencing it (firefox) I tend to agree. If it occurred in other apps (as it did for me if I recall on eoan/19.10) it was in many apps including LXQt ones/settings.. Please let me know of your report ID if filed with Mozilla; O | 06:28 |
guiverc | sorry; hit wrong key.. I'd like to watch & test for it again on old dell with 1280x1024 screens | 06:29 |
Heini | From my experience it is only in firefox. | 06:45 |
Heini | Thanks for the support. | 06:49 |

lubot | [telegram] <Rodrigo> I had some issues with applications installed using snap that don't always use the OS settings like theme, screen limits, etc | 19:31 |
