[18:09] I feel kinda bad for #nut since there are only seven users there including me. A project that large I'd expect a bit more. Though I guess it has been unmaintained for a while. [18:16] I moved most of my stuff to Signal / XMPP [18:17] I prefer XMPP by a country mile, but the users are on Signal [18:49] XMPP is good for people who know what XMPP actually is and have the technical fortitude to set it up. Signal is good for normies. [18:50] The only downside with XMPP is it doesn't do voice/video. Session is kinda new, and they just added that. It's slightly better than Signal but not as easy and still not federated. [18:51] https://speek.network I just saw this one, which is federated, but has no voice/video yet and no text based client on top of that. [19:25] XMPP is a lot of hacks and RFCs [19:25] We're using https://quicksy.im at the moment [19:26] uses a phone number as my ID, but it also takes some of the pain out of the equation.
