Tried "leave unchanged" also to no avail [12:12] Hi all [13:28] Help I'm 82 and can't see, I need to increase font size in 2022. (re @join_captcha_bot: ) [13:28] To 14 [13:33] open system settings/appearance/fonts and resize there [14:09] Hi all. Has anybody else noticed problems using RDP tools such as Remmina or KRDC connecting to (e.g. older) Windows servers? [14:09] I have co-workers who run Ubuntu or Ubuntu derivatives and who can actually connect. [14:36] It appears that if I switch to RDP protocol instead of TLS it works again [17:31] Good evening.  I have a problem with my kubuntu install and I'm trying to figure out who to report it to. I just got the upgraded snapd.firefox, but it's not recognising that it's the default web browser, and trying to set it in the system settings application is not working.  Even if I click "Make Default" in Firefox's settings, it doesn't work. [17:31] Who would the bug be with? KDE, Kubuntu or Firefox? [18:04] DaneGeld: For me, Firefox seems to work as the default web browser just fine, it's just that Firefox doesn't realize that it's the default. [18:06] DaneGeld: If I were to guess, I'd think it was a bug in snapd, since that seems like the most likely culprit to Firefox not recognizing that it's the default web browser. [18:11] I can't understand why it was changed to a snap from a standard package. Why screw with something which works? [18:11] If it ain't broken, don't fix it! :) [18:13] DaneGeld: Security reasons. I wrote a rather long "this is why the change to snap was a good idea" thing here: https://discourse.lubuntu.me/t/22-04-firefox-can-no-longer-save-to-network-folders/3282/11 [18:15] So do I have a choice over this? Because I'd rather have firefox fully working, than it being attached to something which may not be working. [18:15] DaneGeld: You can install the official Firefox tarball. It automatically updates, and works independently of Snap or apt. I'll find the link... [18:15] Yay! [18:17] https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux Scroll down to "Install Firefox from Mozilla builds (For advanced users)". [18:17] The change to snap would be a good idea, but the fact that firefox and snapd aren't communicating properly, suggests to me that something ain't right in there.  Firefox has never failed to detect that it was default browser after I set it, and it keeps asking me when I open, if I want to make it default browser... [18:18] Thanks [18:18] DaneGeld: Yeah, some things are rough around the edges. Thankfully, that's why the tarball is there! [18:21] I'm not exactly an advanced user, I just hope there's a readme buried in that tarball! === elijah__ is now known as Celefoombor [22:34] hi [23:23] hello everybody [23:23] what authentication system does kubuntu use? [23:38] That may depend on what you're authenticating. [23:39] And even t hen, if you provide some options, may be easier to understand what you're asking.... [23:39] for example, gpg keys are used for some stuff
