[02:02] I have two games that have the same name in my Games folder. How do I change one of them? [02:02] In the start menu, sorry. [09:49] should chromium upgrade from the regular terminal function? [09:50] I downloaded from Moun [09:50] ..Muon [10:03] dragon_, what release? chromium-browser in current releases installs the snap package which updates automatically (`snap refresh` will upgrade it, but you don't need to run that) [10:04] I get this pop up warning from chromium [10:05] The snap package will give a notification "Pending update of 'chromium' snap. Close the app to avoid disuptions (99 days left)" (where 99 is the number of days before it'll force itself closed & auto-update for you) [10:06] (the normal default wait; what I used 99 as example of in ^, is 14 days) [10:07] if you close the app, wait a little (let the kernel close it), you can use `snap refresh` to cause the upgrade..) [10:08] I must have done something in the install, I don`t think I called for "snap" in particular [10:09] i don't know what release you're using (you haven't said), but packages like `chromium-browser | 1:85.0.4183.83-0ubuntu2 | jammy/universe | source, amd64, arm64, armhf` installed with `apt install` (of using a package manager like `muon`) will cause the snap to be installed... [10:10] s/of using/or using/ ^ [10:11] oh, my lubuntu needs upgrade too [10:11] I should go for the april release [10:12] for all of 20.04, 21.01 & 22.04, tne deb package of chromium-browser (chromium) will install the snap package of it [10:12] s/21.01/21.10/ ^ [10:12] I need to do that in terminal? [10:12] I am in 21.10 [10:13] No, you can use discover or muon, but even if you select the deb package in those, the snap gets installed by the deb package you select [10:13] thanks [10:13] FYI: You still have a month+ before you need to release-upgrade from 21.10 to 22.04; so it's not yet urgent. [10:13] I shall have to tackle the upgrade to 22.04 first I think [10:14] thanks [10:14] is there are site for upgrade commands? [10:16] Firstly always check the manual - https://manual.lubuntu.me/stable/D/upgrading.html -- but I'd also always read the release notes as well - https://lubuntu.me/jammy-released/ [10:16] jammy is the codename of 22.04 [10:20] do you upgrade to stable and are stuck there, or can you go to the next 22.10 when it arrives? [10:24] hi [10:29] I just switched pc [10:29] I slightly panic on release upgrades [10:34] a few promps appear, clockmore, something with restart and incopatibilites, I just pressed ok [10:39] 10 minutes into the process [10:47] it took less than 15 minutes [10:49] I am not sure the upgrade went as it should? [10:49] I have the same desctop background? [10:51] I am in jammy I think [10:54] I miss the jellyfish walpaper [10:54] well... [10:55] it is there as an option if I select it [10:56] thanks, the upgrade went smoother than I tought, quite painlessly [16:36] Hello [16:36] How long should that white cursor be flashing after selecting "install" from grub? [16:44] Umm, it worked when i selected uefi mode from boot :o [18:06] ilmais1n: Some systems have buggy firmware that can cause the initial boot of the installer to take a very long time. It does eventually get around to booting, but it might take ten minutes or so. [18:08] It didn't used to be this way, but the old installers used a boot method that had other problems, and the new method fixes these problems. It just can take time. https://discourse.lubuntu.me/t/slow-boot-times-of-lubuntu-22-04-lts-on-some-hardware/3280 [20:57] moo === JoeLlama is now known as mooocow === mooocow is now known as JoeLlama [21:21] moo
