dsc_ | is there a way to get rid of the 'update notifier' ? its a window prompt that asks me to update | 13:12 |
dsc_ | it spawns every 20min or so | 13:12 |
tomreyn | dsc_: that's unusually often. you could uninstall it, but then you would loose automated updates and reminders for those. | 13:50 |
tomreyn | it may be better to examine what causes the unusually low frequency for those prompts. | 13:51 |
tomreyn | this is related to package update-manager | 13:52 |
tomreyn | actually, this may be different on lubuntu if it uses the muon package manager as kde does | 13:52 |
Rober[m] | <dsc_> "is there a way to get rid of the..." <- you can disable it via login options, inside lxqt options, so you run it only when you want | 13:54 |
tomreyn | and when you don't forget | 13:55 |
dsc_ | < tomreyn> this is related to package update-manager | 14:12 |
dsc_ | thanks | 14:12 |

kc2bez | dsc_: You haven't said which release you are using but I am guessing it is 20.04. The update notifier interval has been fixed in newer releases. If you are on 20.04 have a look at this thread to decide which workaround is best for you: https://discourse.lubuntu.me/t/stop-update-notifier-popup/2847 | 17:55 |
