arraybolt3[m]Hey, guys. Do we have any systems in place to allow us to ban troublesome Telegram users? #kubuntu got hit with a crypto scam recently, by a user named "wisdom" coming in via IrcsomeBot (which I believe is Telegram). Is there some way for us to do the equivalent of a Matrix ban or a K-Line for Telegram?14:32
arraybolt3[m](Another thing I just noticed is that the scam/spam link is a link to a Telegram chat, so perhaps we should also report the entire Telegram chatroom, in the event that it's a scam, like I suspect.)14:33
arraybolt3[m]Another problem: in #lubuntu, a user named da_youngzta just popped in, attempted to call the !ops trigger, then popped back out. However, they typoed the trigger (typing ops! rather than !ops), so it didn't trigger anything. However, this is a pretty obvious attempt at disruption.14:48
arraybolt3[m](I'm noticing they didn't pop right back out, but instead ended up leaving due to ping timeout, but it still is an attempt to stir up trouble AFAICT.)14:49
tomreyni can live with (potential) abusers writing a single, incorrectly formatted trigger, and diconnecting, that's not much of a 'problem' to me.15:04
tomreynbut then, i'm not a #lubuntu op15:04
tomreynAbout telegram users / the IrcsomeBot, i think within the Ubuntu project namespace, this bridge is only in #kubuntu, so the ops of this channel would have to have a say.15:06
Eickmeyer[m]arraybolt3: I'm an op for Telegram in #kubuntu. There's actually a verification system that has to be jumped through (basically "I'm not a robot"), but some jump through that just to post spam. They then post the spam, which makes it through the bridge. It can't be deleted on the IRC side, but can be deleted on the Telegram side.15:15
Eickmeyer[m]Looks like any recent incidents have been dealt with.15:16
Eickmeyer[m](also remember to leave this channel once your question has been answered :) )15:16
arraybolt3[m]Thank you! (I was afk, thus why I didn't already leave.) Thanks for all you do!15:31
