There was an oversight. [14:47] Eickmeyer: it's been done before. I think it requires a Feature Freeze Exception [14:47] sometimes packages get dependencies that are just handled as normal SRUs without FFE paperwork though [14:49] jbicha: Gotcha. This is for Libreoffice Calc. It was excluded to save space, but when the space saving got resolved with iso-level-3 (meaning we could push beyond 4GB squashfs file sizes), I just overlooked adding it back to the seed. So, not really a dependency thing as it's all there. [14:56] hello :), yet another re-try is required for https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/llvm-toolchain-14/1:14.0.6-1/+build/24112253 [15:00] ricotz: what do you think will be different? it's also failing in debian https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=llvm-toolchain-14 [15:06] ginggs, at least binutils is different compared to this debian build [15:07] so having another actual build without launchpad bailing would be nice [15:08] -queuebot:#ubuntu-release- Unapproved: rejected brltty [source] (jammy-proposed) [6.4-4ubuntu3] [15:08] -queuebot:#ubuntu-release- Unapproved: brltty (jammy-proposed/main) [6.4-4ubuntu2 => 6.4-4ubuntu3] (ubuntu-desktop, ubuntu-server) [15:26] s/launchpad/this blasted cloud/ [15:31] vorlon: did you merge qt6-webengine to prepare for ffmpeg 5? seems likely, and I am curious [15:31] ricotz: the queue was empty so I've given it back [15:33] -queuebot:#ubuntu-release- New binary: golang-github-masterminds-sprig [amd64] (kinetic-proposed/universe) [3.2.1-3ubuntu1] (no packageset) [16:01] Hi, if someone has the cycles for a pre-SRU rationale review I have a bug report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1980180 [16:01] Launchpad bug 1980180 in calamares (Ubuntu Jammy) "[SRU] Calamares 3.2 Series for 22.04 LTS" [Medium, New] [16:03] I'd like some feedback from the SRU team on what route we should take. Like Erich, I favor A [16:03] The sooner the better since 22.04.1 is right around the corner... [16:29] -queuebot:#ubuntu-release- Unapproved: accepted samba [source] (jammy-proposed) [2:4.15.5~dfsg-0ubuntu5.1] [16:36] ginggs, thx [16:52] -queuebot:#ubuntu-release- Unapproved: accepted libqb [source] (jammy-proposed) [2.0.4-1ubuntu0.1] [17:04] tsimonq2: I asked some questions on the bug. I don't want to make a decision for the SRU team without consulting further, but my feeling is that in the absence of some other specific justfication, this kind of update is exactly what we promise to users we won't do. [17:06] bdmurray: could you look into releasing freerdp2 to jammy-updates? the gnome-remote-desktop upstream maintainer has been pushing me about it [17:22] jbicha: I disagree with test case 1 not being verifiable as there are (or were in the past) a *suprising* number of people reporting crashes with -proposed enabled. Having said that because the fix is in freerdp and the crash is about gnome-remote-desktop finding out if people have the -proposed version of freerdp2 is more complicated. [17:23] jbicha: what dependency would I want to look for in the "Dependencies" section of a crash report? [17:24] libfreerdp2* he said answering his own question [17:27] bdmurray: there is a gnome-remote-desktop/jammy SRU we could release at the same time if that helps for reviewing reported errors (once they both fully phase) [17:31] jbicha: my point is it should be possibe to query existing crashes in the Error Tracker to see if any of them have the new version of freerdp2 installed before deciding to release it to -updates. [17:33] bdmurray: do you have a way to do that? [17:34] jbicha: I definitely had a way, it might require some minor tweaking but that seems useful. [17:35] I'd appreciate it. I think it would help upstream who has been reviewing the error reports here too [17:35] I also don't want to delay the process so let's give me until EOD Thursday. [17:51] rbasak: Hey, I forget which TZ you're in (I don't mean this to be too late) but a reply was sent to that SRU bug. Let us know if you have any questions :) [18:14] tsimonq2: ack. Yes, I'm EOD now, but I'll make a note to get you an answer soon. [18:14] Thanks! [22:00] vorlon: it's unlikely that stuff has moved onto using jammy yet from upstreams. [22:35] eggs, what decade is it? :-) [22:36] but yeah, in general wheels typically use older ABIs for wider compatibility [22:46] same thing, once i moved to kernel land, all the userspace things just mushed into one thing for me.
