magic_ninjaI'm having some strange issues with windows freezing. They don't quit responding, they just quit painting. I've taken videos of them, but don't want to post publically. I was hoping a dev might want to take a look and see if it could be some strange bug or not.05:56
magic_ninjaI recorded the screen on OBS to show the window not repainting properly. Then recorded the window with OBS, and as I interacted with it, I could see it repainting properly within OBS. So I recorded both side-by-side.05:56
magic_ninjaIt happens on all applications, but firefox is the easiest to see it with, as it's usually open.05:57
magic_ninjaI'm on the amdgpu drivers.05:57
arraybolt3[m]magic_ninja: If you only want a dev to get this, you may want to know who the devs are before freely giving a link. I know Erich Eickmeyer is one of the devs. Also, this channel is logged, so posting anything here will preserve it for the rest of forever for the world to see (unless Canonical deletes it or something, and even then someone else might have gotten the logs). So don't post personal data here. Preferably, if the data05:58
arraybolt3[m]is personal, don't even give it to a dev. Give out non-sensitive data only.05:58
magic_ninjaIt's not that critical.05:59
magic_ninjaJust not something I want to post in public.05:59
magic_ninjaBut critical to seeing what's happening.05:59
magic_ninjaBut I do think it is a software bug.06:00
arraybolt3[m]Oh, OK. Well, I'm not a dev, so I'll let a real dev handle this. Thank you for noticing a bug and wanting to report it. Once someone sees it, having help replicating it will be crucial to getting it fixed. If you can help the devs not just see it but make it happen themselves, that will aid bug fixing immensely. Good luck, and thank you!06:00
magic_ninjaThanks. I've been trying to reproduce it, but I'm having a hard time with it.06:09
Eickmeyer[m]magic_ninja: This is not the place to post such questions as what you've got is a support question, not a development topic. So, it's off topic here. However, based on what you've posted, and that it's drawing fine in OBS recordings, that tells me it's not likely a software issue. If you have a desktop machine, I suspect a hardware cable to your display. If you have a laptop machine, I suspect the cable between your mainboard and your14:01
Eickmeyer[m]display, or your display itself. Either way, not a question for in here. :)14:01
Eickmeyer[m]And, also, posting in here is just as public as anywhere else.14:04
