[06:26] Good morning all [06:56] goood morning desktopers! [06:56] good morning desktoppers [07:13] Hey oSoMoN seb128 [07:14] good morning jibel, oSoMoN, seb128 [07:14] salut jibel [07:14] salut didrocks [07:14] et salut seb128 [07:18] lut jibel, didrocks, oSoMoN, en forme ? [07:18] la forme, et toi? [07:18] ça va :) [07:19] ça va va :) [07:59] Hi there, I'd like to raise https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libnma/+bug/1980643 which would allow me to work on the GTK4 version of my software, I don't know how to flag it as it is not a SRU [07:59] Launchpad bug 1980643 in libnma (Ubuntu) "Build libnma-gtk4 in jammy" [Undecided, New] [09:11] tintou, hey, I don't think we will do a such change in a SRU, if you are working on a project you should probably build the library locally or switch to kinetic [09:12] tjaalton, hey, does that means that intel-vaapi-driver is current buggy and needs a rebuild or changes for the current libva? [09:12] t$ LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=i965 LIBVA_MESSAGING_LEVEL=2 vainfo [09:12] libva info: VA-API version 1.14.0 [09:12] libva info: User environment variable requested driver 'i965' [09:12] libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/i965_drv_video.so [09:12] libva info: Found init function __vaDriverInit_1_10 [09:12] libva error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/i965_drv_video.so init failed [09:29] seb128: maybe, is this kinetic? [09:29] tjaalton, no, jammy [09:30] but the package wasn't rebuilt either in kinetic [09:30] wasn't it already rebuilt there [09:30] seems no, https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/intel-vaapi-driver shows no upload since impish [09:31] iirc you uploaded something? :) [09:31] intel-media-driver [09:31] ah [09:31] vaapi is for older gen if I understand it correctly? [09:31] yes [09:32] I only hit the issue because one of the chromium dev suggested to try with i965 to rule out an iHD issue and that fails like ^ [09:33] I don't know enough about libva to know if that just needs a rebuild or actual changes for the new abi [09:35] there was an abi break in libva aiui that got reverted later [09:35] but the drivers were already built against the broken version, and need a rebuild [10:02] tjaalton, seems a different issue, the current binary comes from impish which had libva 1.12 and was before that abi change, also the error we had in intel media driver was a segfault, here it just seems to bail out because it's built from an older abi? [10:30] dunno [10:31] what's your hardware? i965 doesn't support newer than gen9 gpu's [10:39] tjaalton, it's a gen10, IHD is working for me and that suggesting wasn't of real use, but it still feels like intel-vaapi-driver has an issue which is why I pointed it out [10:40] I also don't have <= gen9 handy to confirm [10:45] so comet lake, it's not supported so normal that it's not getting loaded [11:48] tjaalton, ah ok, thanks for confirming!
